Web Spatial Decision Support System
Main Goals
• It is intended to develop a Web Spatial Decision Support System (WebSDSS) based on
spatial data produced by Best Research Line;
• The WebSDSS will be available for researchers through an authentication service for
providing a secure access to the data;
• The WebSDSS will be divided in two main components:
1. Show and present the spatial data;
2. Analysis of spatial data;
Fig. 1 – WebSDSS Characteristics (Sugumaran, R., Degroote, J., 2010).
• Geographic information is crucial to decision making by all manner of
organizations. It is estimated that 80% of data used by managers and decision
makers is geographically related (Worrall, 1991).

Future Works
• Improve the open source platform with new tools.
• Use the ArcGis platform to develop the Geoprocessing & analytical processing.
• Develop a system that provides support to spacial decisions.
