This report summarizes geochemical sampling surveys carried out by
Noranda Exploration Company Limited from 1982 to 1985 on the Angela Deve
lopments Joint Venture. Sampling was carried out on a seasonal basis
throughout this period mainly on cut grid lines, with some sampling done
along and in between claim lines.
The work dealt with in this report was filed with the mining recorder's
office in Sault Ste. Marie on September 23, 1985 (work reports
138.85, 139.85).
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
The Angela Developments Joint Venture consists of 519 continguous un-
patented mining claims within the Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division. Portions
of the claim group occur in the Oskabukuta Lake (M-16), Denis Lake (M-l)
and White Lake South (G-623) areas. All claims are recorded in the name of
Noranda Exploration Company Limited. A complete list of claims covered
by this survey is appended.
LOCATION AKD ACCESS
The Angela Developments Joint Venture is situated roughly equidistant
from Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay (Figure 1). The town of White River
is about 30 kilometres to the east along Highway 17. The Heralo gold deposits
are approximately 25 kilometres to the west (Figure 3), The village of
Hebert at the south end of White Lake is about 3 kilometres west of the
property.
Highway 17 provides convenient access to the northern part of the claims.
The central part of the group from the western property boundary east to the

can be reached via the South Regan Road, a secondary gravel
road originating in Mobert which heads south eventually reaching Lake Superior.
Claims lying north of BananishLake and west of Long Lake, and those east
of the Bremner River are accessible only by helicopter. Figure 2 illustrates
the property boundaries and accessibility.
TOPOGRAPHY AND VEGETATION
Most of the area covered by the Angela claim group is dominated by a
gently to moderately rolling glaciated terrain. Outcrop ridges and small
cliffs are usually parallel to the strike of the bedrock. In the western
and southernmost claims they have a general east-west orientation which
swings to northwest through the central part of the claims. The northern
and eastern portions of the claim group around Highway 17 and White River
are covered by glacio-lacustrine sand and gravel deposits resulting in a
relatively flat, terrain and little outcrop exposure.
Maximum topographic relief on the property is about 125 metres along
the Breroner River in the south part of the claim group. Relief rarely
exceeds 50 metres over the rest of the property.
Vegetation cover in the area is predominantly mixed coniferous forest
of spruce and balsam. Tamarack and cedar occur in lower lying swampy
areas, jackpine can be found on some outcrop ridges and sandy areas.
Poplar and birch occui in groves and scattered throughout the forest. Alders
grow long stream and river banks.
REGIONAL GEOLOGY
The claim group is situated at the eastern end of the Hemlo synform,

n east-we'st trending synclinorium developed within the Archean aged Hemlo-
Heron Bay greenstone belt (Figure 3). The belt consists of an assemblage of
mafic, felsic and intermediate volcanic rocks, and various types of clastic
sediment.
The synform is bounded to the northwest by the Gowan Lake Pluton and
the Black Pic Batholith, to the north by the Dotted Lake Batholith and to the
south by the Pukaskwa gneissic complex. The core of the synform has been
intruded by several late Archean granitic bodies which include the Musher
Lake and Cedar Lake Plutons. Post-Archean diabase dikes cut the entire
succession.
Rocks within the Hemlo-Heron Bay greenstone belt have locally reached an
upper-araphibolitite grade of metamorphism.
Of particular interest regarding the Angela property is the fact that
rock units occurring on it are along strike with those hosting the Hemlo
gold deposits about 25 kilometres to the west.
PROPERTY GEOLOGY
The geology of the Angela claim group consistsof an interlayered
sequence of metavolcanic and metasedimentary supracrustal rocks of Archean
age which have been intruded by later Archean granitic rocks, small amounts
of gabbro, diorite and feldspar porphyry and post Archean diabase dikes.
Metavolcanics consist mainly of mafic volcanics with lesser occurences
of intermediate and felsic volcanics. Metasediments found in the area
include extensive occurrences of polymictic conglomerates, fine grained
clastic sediments and only minor occurrence of chemical (chert) sediments.

strikes roughly east-west (090 to 105 0 ) with subvertical
to steep (usually greater than 60 0 ) northernly dips through the westermost
and southern part of the claim group. In the north through the central
portion of the claim group the strikes have a north to northwesterly orien
tation (315 to 3600 ) with moderate (40 to 60*) easterly dips, and converge
with the east-west striking rocks in the south central part of the claims. At
the north end of the claims units strike east-southeast (about 100 0 ) with
most of which art isolated spot highs. Field investigations of those
occurring in the north and central part of the claim group did not turn
up any mineralized zones, in fact, there was very little or no outcrop
in the vicini ty of most of the anomalies.
The anomalous trend found in the western end of the claims would
appear to warrant further work. More detailed soil sampling, and detailed
prospecting should be done in this area to determine if the present

An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged.
If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application.
If the reduced rate of credits does not jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of Intent may be disregarded.
If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you m,iy, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Land Management Branch, Toronto. The report will be re-assessed and a new statement of credits based on actual days worked will be issued.
