PLAN OF PRESENTATION
GENERAL TYRES
• The General Tyres is the largest tyre manufacturer in the country producing tyres .
• Initial production capacity around 2,000,000 tyres per annum.
RAW MATERIALS
• Natural rubber
• Synthetic rubber
• Carbon
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
• Banbury Blending
• Milling
• Extruding and Calendering
• Component and Assembly
• Curing
• Finishing and Inspection
BANBURY BLENDING
• In this process natural rubber and synthetic is blended with some specific chemicals to create a homogenous rubber material.
MILLING
• In this process shaping of the rubber takes place as the rubber sheet comes out from the banbury mixer is not that perfect.
EXTRUDING AND CALENDERING
• Extruding is a very important step as it converts the thick and heavy rubber sheets into thin rubber sheets.
• Many of the components are made by this process such as Thread .
• Calendering is the process similar to sandwiching as it sandwich the thin and sharp steel wire between the two thin layer of rubber sheet.
• This process produces the steel belt which is required in the radial car tyres.
COMPONENT AND ASSEMBLY
• At this stage all the tyre components are assembled together to make a “Green Tyre” with the help of assembling machine
CURING
• This is the process where the Green tyre is cured in a Dom shape machine having mould in its inside part at both upper and lower end.
FINISHING AND INSPECTION
• Inspection is the last stage or process of tyremanufacturing which is very important.
• It includes 2 types of inspection:-
1. Manual inspection
2. Weight balancing
PACKING
• After inspection the automatic wrapping machine wrap the in an efficient way to protect it from sunlight, dust and other foreign materials
