Webster’s “Spelling Book” is created. This book was the beginning of what would become a unique American language. Books, especially those concerning history, have always been important to us.

2nd Great Awakening. The second great awakening is partially responsible for the strong religious feelings prevalent when my ancestors came to America, and helped us establish the strong religious core that runs through our ancestors.

Irish Potato Famine. This is one of the primary motivations behind the immigration of my Mother’s side of my family to America.

“New Immigration.” This wave of immigrants, mainly coming from Eastern Europe, included many of my Father’s distant relatives.

2nd Industrial Revolution. This was another big factor in my family’s migration to America, and led to them settling in the Northern sections of America.

America enters World War 2. Both of my Grandfathers served during WW2.
