The European Community Project on training for civilian aspects of crisis management ended in

be kept informed.
Annex 1 contains the Academic Programme of the ESDC as established and kept under review by
the ESDC Steering Committee.

Annexes 2 to 4 cover the programme for the year 2008 (to be agreed), for the year 2009 (tentatively
agreed) and for the year 2010 (envisaged). The number of participants indicated constitutes the
maximum participation for each specific course. For those courses offered by Member States, while
open in principle to all Member States, the exact scale of participation of other nationals is subject
to a decision by the respective organisers.
Regarding the national training courses, this programme in principal contains only those activities
which are both, in line with the training requirements identified and open for participation of other
nationals. Exclusively national training activities in the field of ESDP are not listed in the EU
Training Programme.

The participants will most likely be potential candidates for (or already hold) key operational positions at the middle or senior field management level of ESDP missions where they are likely to be given responsibility for coordination with ESDP civil and military components and for cooperation with other EU and EU-external actors.
The objective of the course is to provide ESDP missions and related EU personnel in key operational positions with the opportunity to acquire hands-on practical skills and knowledge of civil-military and civil-civil coordination and cooperation before deployment in multifunctional ESDP missions. The ambition is improved coordination between and within the different crisis management functions of the European Union, as well as EU-external actor cooperation, which will create better prospects for the execution and coherence of the crisis management operations of the EU at the operational level.
