With this advancement, diabetes cure is now possible, although not every diabetic requires a surgery. This is possible by change in the hormones in the intestines which enables the insulin produced by the pancreas work more efficiently. Even in patients with poor control of diabetes with the background of insulin therapy, the surgery will be successful in controlling sugar levels. Hence, this can also be called diabetes cure surgery. 1 GEM Medical Bulletin December 2015
