Paddle motor On/OffWillstartthechurningofmixtureinsidethecylinder,whenusedinconjunctionwiththeLEDtimer.
Chiller On/OffTheapplianceispre-chilledfor5minutestoensurefreezingtemperaturesaslowas-30°Carereachedduringthechurningprocess.Thisispossibleduetoaninternalcompressorwhichcreatestheperfectfreezingenvironmenttomakefrozendessertsatamomentsnotice,eliminatingtheneedtopre-freezecanistersovernight.Theindicatorlightshowsthatthechillingsystemisoperating.
LED timer display
Release buttonPressingtheReleasebuttonenablesthepaddlemotorwithtransparentlidtoberemovedfromtheappliance.

LED timer displaySet time-Thepreselectedtimeforchurningamixtureisdisplayedontheleftsideofthepanelinredandremainsconstantthroughoutthechurningprocess.Thissettimecanbeincreasedwithincrementsof5minutesuntilamaximumof60minutesisreached.Intheeventthatadditionaltimeisrequiredabove60minutes,theappliancewillresetto5minutes.Settimewillflashtoindicatethatthetimerhasnotyetstarted.
Remaining time-theremainingtimeforchurningamixtureisdisplayedontherightsideofthepanelingreenandwilldeclineby1minute.When minutesisreached,thetimerwillflashandbeepfor5counts,indicatingthatthechurningwillfinishin2minutes.Whenthetimerhasreachedthesetchurningtime,theremainingtimewilldisplay andthetimerwillbeepfor18counts.
Start/Stop-PressingtheStartbuttonwillcommencethetimerandrotationofthepaddle.Alternatively,whilsttheapplianceisoperating,pressingtheStopbuttonwillstopthetimeraswellasthepaddle.Additionally,pressingtheStopbuttonwillcancelthebeepingnoticeofthetimer,ifdesired.
Timer Select-Allowsyoutoselectthetimenecessarytomakeaparticularfrozendessert,with5minuteincrementsupto60minutes.Whenthistimeisreached,thepaddlemotorwillswitchoffautomaticallyandbeepfor18counts.

Important:PlacetheGelateriauprightonaflatsurfaceforatleast12hoursbeforeusingitforthefirsttime,toallowtheoilcontainedinthecompressortosettle.Thesameprocedureshouldbefollowedintheeventthattheice-creammakerhasbeenaccidentallyplacedinanon-uprightposition.
1.Beforeuse,thoroughlywashallpartsthatwillcomeintocontactwiththeice-cream.Thefixedstainlesssteelcylindershouldbecleanedusingadampclothanddriedthoroughly.Theremovablecylinder,transparentlidwithpouringholeandpaddleshouldbewashedinwarmsoapywater,rinsedanddriedthoroughly.
2.WhenyourIce-CreamMakerisfirstused,youmayexperienceanodourandpossiblyaslightwispofsmokefromtheappliance.Thisisreleasedbytheinsulationmaterialofthemotorwhentheapplianceisheated,whichprotectsthemotorandisanormaloccurrence.Afterthefirstfewuses,thiswillnolongeroccur.

1.PositiontheIce-CreamMakeronadry,levelsurface,ensuringthattheventilationslotsoneithersideoftheappliancearenotobstructed.
2.EnsureyourIce-CreamMakerisunpluggedfromthepoweroutletbeforefittingtheconnectingparts.
3.Pourasolutionofsaltandwaterintothefixedstainlesssteelcylinder,using1tablespoon(20ml)waterandateaspoon(5g)salt.
NOTE:Thesaltsolutionisrecommendedinordertofacilitatethetransferoffreezingtemperaturesfromthefixedcylindertotheremovablecylinderandguaranteethesuccessofthefrozendessert.4.Inserttheremovablecylinderinsidethe
fixedstainlesssteelcylinder.Besuretopositionthehandleoftheremovablecylinderinbetweenthelockingtabtopreventthecylinderfrommovingduringthechurningprocess.Seefigure1.
5.Attachthetransparentlidwithpouringholetothebaseofthepaddlemotor,usingtheroundcutoutinthecentreofbothpartstoaligncorrectly.Connectthesetwopartstogetherbyrotatingtheplasticscrewinananti-clockwisedirectionuntilfirm.Seefigure2.
6.Insertthepaddleintotheopeningatthebaseofthepaddlemotor.Seefigure3.
7.Positionthepaddlemotorwithpaddleoverthecylinderandrotateclockwiseuntiltheconnectionplugofthepaddlemotorlocksintotheadjacentsocket.Seefigure4.

Selectthenecessarytimerequiredtomakethefrozendessertbypressingthe‘TimerSelect’buttonfeaturedonthelowerrighthandcorner,oftheLEDtimerdisplay.Theice-creammakingprocessgenerallytakesbetween25-55minutes.TheleftsideoftheLEDpanelwilldisplaythepreselected‘SetTime’andwillflashcontinuouslyuntilthetimeristurnedon.Thetimercanbesetforamaximumof60minutesusing5minuteincrements.
NOTE:Whenthepoweristurnedon,boththeSetTimeandRemainingTimedisplay5minutes.
11.Turnthepaddlemotoron.
12.PressStartontheLEDcontrolpanel.
13.Pourthepreparedfrozendessertmixturethroughthepouringhole,intothecylinder.
NOTE: Donotplacehotliquidsintothecylinder.Allingredientsshouldbeatrefrigeratortemperatures.
14.Toaddingredientssuchaschocolatechipsandraisins,afterthemixingprocesshasbegun,gentlyaddthemthroughthepouringholeonthetransparentlid.
NOTE:Alcoholinhibitsthefreezingprocess.Ifaddingalcoholtoarecipe,addwhenthemixtureisalmostfrozen.TheLEDtimerisprogrammedtobeep5times,2minutesbeforetheunitisswitchedoff.Thisistheidealtimetoaddalcoholtofrozendessertmixtures.
15.Whenthepreselectedtimehasbeenreached,thetimerwillbeepconsecutivelyfor18countsandthepaddlemotorwillswitchoffautomatically.Thisbeepingnoticecanbecancelledbypressingthe‘Stop’buttonlocatedonthelowerlefthandcorneroftheLEDcontrolpanel.
NOTE 1: Ifatanytimeduringthechurningprocess,thesettimeisinsufficienttoachievetherightconsistencyforafrozendessert,thetimercanbeincreasedaccordingly.Thereisnoneedtostopthetimer.
NOTE 2:Iftheice-creamhasreachedagoodconsistency,thepaddlerotationreversesdirection,indicatingthattheice-creamisready.ShouldthisoccurpriortoreachingthesettimeontheLEDtimerdisplay,thepaddlemotorshouldbeturnedoffandthetimerstopped.

• Thetimetakentomakeafrozendessertwilldependontheambienttemperatureofaroom,theapplianceandthetemperatureoftheingredientsaddedtotheremovablecylinder.Asageneralrule,thecoolertheseelements,thefasterthefrozendessertmakingprocess.Theice-creammakingprocessgenerallytakesbetween25-55minutes.
•Whenfollowingrecipesthatrequirethemixturetobepre-cooked,itisbesttopreparethemixtureadayinadvance.Thiswillallowthemixturesufficienttimetocoolandexpand.
•Whenpreparingdessertmixturesthatdonotrequirepre-cooking,alwaysuseanelectricmixerformaximumaeration.
•Foodssuchascream,sugar,eggsandmilkareoftenthekeyingredientsinanyice-creammixture.Theymaybesubstitutedwithsimilaringredientstosuityourtasteanddietaryrequirements.Forexample,differentvarietiesofcreammaybeused,whichwillproducevaryingflavoursandtextures.
•Duetoanincreaseinvolumeduringpreparation,themaximumamountofliquidmixtureshouldnotexceed850ml.However,sorbetsdonotexpandasmuchthereforecanbeupto900ml.Ifusingyourownrecipes,adaptthevolumeofmixturetotheseamounts.This850mlwillcreateapproximately1Litre.
•Alcoholinhibitsthefreezingprocess.Ifaddingalcoholtoarecipe,addwhenthemixtureisalmostfrozen.Thebestwaytojudgethis,iswhenthemixturereachesthetopofthecylinder.
•Theflavourofasorbetwilldependgreatlyontheripenessandsweetnessofthefruitand/orjuice.Ifafruitistootart,addalittleextrasugarinthesugarsyrup:ifthefruitisveryripe,decreasethesugarinthesugarsyrupalittle.Rememberthatoncefrozen,yourrecipewillnotbequiteassweetastheoriginalmixture.
•Theconsistencyoftheice-cream/sorbetswillbeaspoonableconsistencywhenfinished.Werecommendhoweverplacingmixtureinthefreezerforafurther2hoursbeforeservingifusingice-creamcones.
•Artificialsweetenersmaybeusedasasubstituteforsugar,butmustbeaddedtocoolorroomtemperaturemixtures.Iftherecipecallsforsugartobedissolvedoverheatandyouwishtouseanartificialsweetener,thenyoushouldomitthisprocess.Simplystirthesweetenerintothecoolmixtureuntildissolved.
• Werecommendthatyoushoulduseanartificialsweetenerthatisinequalproportiontosugar.
•Whenstoringyourfrozendessert,ensurethecontainerisnolargerthan1Litreandwellsealed.Thiswillpreventicecrystalsforminginsidethecontainer.
•Frozendessertsmaybestoredinthefreezerforupto2weeks.
• Ifservingfromthefreezer,allowtheice-creamtositoutatroomtemperaturefor5-10minutes;thiswillmakeservingeasier.

• Haveyouringredientsmeasuredoutandreadysothatyouarenotleavinganythingwaiting.
• Usingawirewhiskorelectrichandmixer,beattheeggyolksandsugarinalargedeepbowlforabout3-4minutesoruntillightandcreamy.Thecolourwillgoquitelight.
• Placethemilk/creamrequiredfortherecipeinasaucepan.
• Heatthemilkmixtureonalow/mediumheatuntilthemixturelookslikeitisalmostabouttoboil.Agoodguideiswhenlittlebubblesstarttoappeararoundtheedgesofthemilk.Becarefulnottoboil.Shouldyouboilthemilkyouwillneedtostartagain.
• Usingawirewhisk,whiskthehotmilkmixturegraduallyintotheeggmixturemakingsurethatthetwoarewellcombined.
