Purposes of designing the courseappreciate > compare > criticize

•Students are aimed to develop abilities to appreciate Chinese musical cultures.

•In addition, students will be introduced to pertinent issues and processes of Chinese music (including cultural modernization, globalization, gender and sexuality, and concepts of musical authenticity and revival).

•Furthermore, students are encouraged to criticize cultural issues of Chinese music in global perspective by the comparison among different musical cultures.
