Having known Vijay since day one and been good friends since i feel that my environment on Vijay should show more of his general appearance/activities. I feel that i pret-ty much know his personality pretty well and his day to day activities. I feel that basicing my research on more of his past will give me a more of a general idea on what i what to achieve from my 3D environment.

- My favourite artists range from Drake, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Usher, Chris Brown and more. My favourite bands are most defenitly Boys 2 Men, Kci and JoJo, Next, Blackstreet, Destinys Child.

– The genre that I listen to would be RnB/Soul, Hip Hop, Old School, Reggae and charts music.

WHICH ARTISTS HAVE YOU SEEN LIVE?

– I have seen quite a few artists live. I have seen Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara, Take That, Bow Wow. In May I will be going to see Jay-Z and Kanye West live at the o2 arena and also in July I will be attending the barclaycard wireless festi-val 2012. At this event the artists will be Drake, Nicki Mi-naj, Wiz Khalifa, Example, The Weekend, Professor Green, Labrinth, Nero, Tulisa and more.

WHAT JOBS HAVE YOU HAD IN THE PAST?

- My previous job was at RBS insur-ance. My role was a customer service advisor dealing with customers motor insurance policies and making changes if needed to. This was only a part time job as I was studying at Coleg Glan Hafren at the time. My previous jobs to that varied from working in a travel agent to cus-tomer at tescos.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO GO TO UNIVERSITY AT THE AGE OF 23?

– I decided to go to university at my age because I was uncon-vinced that I wasnt achieving my goals in life. My original career plans were to work in IT as this was my favourite subject in high school and I learnt alot from it. After school, I wanted to go into employ-ment straight away as I wanted to follow the footsteps of my dad and my brother. I feel very lucky to

have parents that are hard working and will help you throughout your life anyway they can. I started work at a solicitors called Hugh James where I was a file opener. This wasnt the best paid job as I was only being paid £65 per week. This was due to the job being referred by a train-ing company called ACT. At ACT, I under-took some further qualifications around the IT area. I com-pleted a level 2 NVQ in ICT and also the ECDL qualification. This all helped me as a further completed a course at College called First Diploma for ICT Practitioners. After I had achieved all these extra quali-fications, I still wasnt convinced that I was achieving my goal. This was as people say ‘hitting the wall’. I then returned to full time work saving money each month but I was doing something that I didnt enjoy. It took me 2 years after return-ing to work full that I was bored in life and something had to be done. I went to see a

Careers advisor about how I dont know what I want in life and I feel im going to be in the same job for the rest of my life and we talked about my hobbies, qualifica-tions and anything that was stopping me from achieving my goals. I mentioned that I liked working on the computers and I draw whenever I have a pen and paper in my hand and she suggested going down the art and design ca-reer. She showed me some of the courses in Art and Design around the Colleges in Cardiff and Graphic Design was the one that stuck out for me. You learn so many things that you didn’t think existed with the use of materials and software such as Il-lustrator, Photoshop etc. Later that year, I studied Graphic De-sign at College and I loved every bit of it.To cut a long story short, after this course I realized that this is what I wanted to do in life. I am still studying Graphics Design at University and I am learning something different

WHAT IS YOUR FA-VORITE BIT ABOUT YOUR COURSE GDNM?

– My favourite part of GDNM would be that there are some pro-jects that have been similar to what I did at College so it makes you want to work harder to achieve a better grade as you have experience with the project. Some parts of the course I dont enjoy due to it being difficult but thats not really an exuse, nothing is hard in life unless you work hard to achieve it. This course is more computer based us-ing all these design software’s so it makes it more open to create anything you want.

WHO ARE YOU INFLUENCES/ROLE MODELS IN LIFE?

- Who are you influ-ences/role models in life– My biggest influence in life today

is Steve Jobs. Eve-rything that he has achieved in life has worked out for me so far in my life. What I mean by this is that when I was study-ing Graphics Design at College, one of the projects were typography. I would be doing my course-work at home and my mates would come over and say ‘what are you drawing, its not that good’ and to me I took it as a joke sometimes but then sometimes it knocked my confidence as I felt like my dream career was coming to an end. Ever since I have watched Steve Jobs Stanford Univer-sity Commencement Address in 2005. This changed my life. The famous quote by Steve Jobs that I will always remember will be ‘sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick, dont lose faith. Im convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. Your work is gonna fill a large part of your life and the only way to

be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work and the only way to do great work is to love what you do’.
