State Advocacy Action
1) We must know what you are dealing with. Contact your GCSAA Field Staff Rep. Your field staff rep may also be aware of outreach that is/has already taken place by
chapters in your state AND/OR leadership of the We Are Golf coalition
2) Determine if golf courses are open for play in your state If this is unclear, your “ask” is that they remain open for play If courses are not open for play, your “ask” is for maintenance
to continue at closed courses
3) Use our templates and resources to craft a letter to your Governor/Mayor One resource deals with Scenario #1 The other resource deals with Scenario #2
4) Circulate within your state to have allied golf associations sign on HAVING A UNIFIED VOICE IS CRITICAL
5) Determine how you will get the letter to your Governor/Mayor Does the golf industry have an existing relationship with his/her office?
6) Deliver the letter
