I Summary
During early summer of2005, Rubicon Minerals optioned the Manitou West Limb Gold Property from four members ofthe Bjorkman family. This property is located 50km south-southwest of Dryden and consists of 31 claims totaling 330 units.
TIrree historic showings exist within the Manitou property boundaries: The main showing in the south central property (DrydenlRed Lake Area showing, Bjorkman grab 10 ozlt Au and Rubicon grab 233 g/t Au), 20th Century Mine located on the northeastern claim line (2000 oz Au in 1903), and the Gold Rock Mine at the north end of the property (1930' s produce $723 worth of Au; Bjorkman sample collected during staking returned 22.97 g/t Au). One historic showing exists just outside the property boundaries: Swede Boy showing on patents internal to the central part of the property (Rubicon returned >4 g/t Au in two locations). With the addition of claim 3019979 the Reliance shafts (Rubicon returned >35 g/t Au) and gold showings are now part of Rubicon's Manitou Property.
During the fall of 2006 Rubicon Minerals Corp. completed a detailed soil survey and prospecting survey oyer 2 claims on the west side of the Manitou Property. The soil survey consisted of 290 B-horizon soil samples over an east-west trending grid. 78 of these samples returned anomalous Au values with two samples returning significant values of 0.38g/t Au (MCR00069) and 0.93g/t Au (MCR00223). These soil samples also indicated areas of anomalous Zn. The prospecting survey was completed contemporaneously with the soil program. A total of 72 grab samples were collected. 29 of these samples were anomalous with significant results from samples including MCR00868 returning 0.22g/t Au and 0.1 % Cu. Also samples MCR00833, MCR00834, MCR00836 and MCR00837 returned significant Zn values of 0.74%, 0.71%, 0 . .54% and 0.72% respectively. During these programs several significant large veins/vein systems were discovered.
TIlOugh small historic mining operations were active in the early part of the century on and adjacent to the property, little work has been performed on the DrydenlRed Lake showing or throughout the property. Regional property wide evaluation is warranted.

1.0 Introduction
In late June 2005 Rubicon Minerals Corporation optioned the Manitou West Limb Gold Property from four members of the Bjorkman family (Karl, Jessica, Bjorn and Katarina Bjorkman). During the fall of 2006 Rubicon Minerals Corp. completed a detailed soil survey and prospecting survey over 2 claims on the west side of the Manitou Property. The soil survey consisted of 290 B-horizon soil samples. 78 of these samples returned anomalous Au values with two samples returning significant values of 0.38g1t Au (MCR00069) and 0.93g1t Au (MCR00223). These samples also indicated areas of anomalous Zn. The prospecting survey was completed contemporaneously with the soil program. A total of 72 grab samples were collected. 29 of these samples were anomalous with significant results from samples including MCR00868 returning 0.22g1t Au and 0.1% Cu. Also samples MCR00833, MCR00834, MCR00836 and MCR00837 returned significant Zn values of 0.74%, 0.71%, 0.54% and 0.72% respectively. During these programs several significant large veins/vein systems were discovered.
2.0 Location and Access
TIle property is located 50 km south-southwest of Dryden, Ontario and 90 km north-northeast of Fort Francis, Ontario in Harper and Lower Manitou Lake Townships within the Kenora Mining Division. See figure 1 & 2.
Direct access to the property is via a series oflogging roads that lead off of Provincial Highway 502 approximately 120 km south of Dryden. See figure 2. Roughly 90 km needs to be traveled on the logging roads, which includes 52 km on the Cedar Narrows Road, then to kilometer 80 on the Penassi East Road and the final 12 to 16 km on the Lost Axe Lake Road. Once on the property, access is by a series of both all wc~ather and winter logging roads leading off of the Lost Axe Lake Road, some of which are only accessible by ATV.
At kilometer lOon the Lost Axe Lake Road there is another logging road (Merrill Lake Road?) that leads to the northeast and is an alternate route to Dryden. This road is narrow and hilly, but eventually ends at Highway 502, approximately 10 km southwest of Dryden.
3.0 Property Status
TILe property consists of31 claims totaling 330 units. See figure 2 and table 1. The original property includes 14 claims (126 units) staked between January 2003 and January 2005. A further 17 claims (204 units) were staked during June 2005 as "buffer" claims about the original property.

The Manitou West Limb Gold property is located within the western margin of the Manitou greenstone belt within the Wabigoon Subprovince. Archean metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks dominate the Manitou greenstone belt. A large granitic intrusive, the Atikwa Batholith occurs approximately 2 km to the northwest of the property.
Structurally the property covers the west limb and central fold axis of a regional-scale, northeast plunging antiform. At least two phases of deformation are evident. The Manitou Straits Fault zone, a major southwest - northeast trending fault zone occurs along Manitou Straits just to the southwest of the property.
4.2 Property Geology
The property is mainly underlain by basalts of the Blanchard Lake Group (Blackburn, 1976). The Blanchard Lake Basalts occupy the core of the Manitou anticline and are predominantly fine to medium grained flow units. The western portion of the property is composed of a mixed sequence of massive, locally porphyritic, mafic flows and intermediate pyroclastics. Thin felsic porphyry dykes were noted in several locations.
5.0 Previous Work
Three historic showings exist within the Manitou West property boundaries: the Main showing in the south central portion of the property (DrydenlRed Lake occurrence), the 20th Century Mine located on the northeastern claim line (2000 oz Au in 1903 from 8,688 tons milled), and the Gold Rock Mine at the north end of the property (in 1930's produced $723 worth of Au from 300 tons milled. Though small historic mining operations were active in the early part of the century on and adjacent to the property, little work has been performed on the Main showing or throughout the property
All of the above mentioned showings, except for the 20th Century Mine, were visited and sampled in early June by Ian Russell and Terry Bursey while conducting a property examination for Rubicon Minerals Corporation. Significant gold values were returned from grab samples collected at the DrydenlRed Lake occurrence and the property was subsequently optioned.

6.0 Summer 2006 Soil Sampling/Prospecting Program
6.1 Introduction
From October 21 st to November 2nd, 2006 exploration work on Manitou West Limb property
consisted of a prospecting survey and a detailed soil survey. The surveys were designed to test the areas adjacent to historic gold occurrences including the Reliance and Orion mines. See figure 2.
Soil Sampling: The soil survey consisted of an east-west grid at 100m spacing with samples at 50m intervals. A few areas were selected for a more detailed survey where the grid consisted of 50m line spacing with 50m sample intervals. A total of 290 B-horizon soil samples were collected and 78 of these returned anomalous results. The most significant results were from samples MCR00069 and MCR00223, which returned values of .38g/t au and 0.93g/t au respectively.
Soils were a useful exploration tool in defining a north-south trending, Au bearing structure near the Dryden-Red Lake Au occurrences, 5.2km to the southwest of the survey area. The soil anomalies in the Reliance/Orion area seem to define two parallel northeast southwest trending structures. See figure 3. Both anomalies contain samples with substantial Au values. The trend to the southwest contains a soil sample, which returned 0.38g/t Au (MCR00069) while a sample from the northeast trend returned 0.93g/t Au (MCR00223). MCR00223 also correlates to the Reliance gold occurrence. These two anomalies may be offset by a structure defined by a regional government geophysics survey, however there is no evidence for this structure in the regional geology map, air photo, or topography. Another anomalous trend in soils is located <500 west of the Reliance showings and trends NNW -SSE. This anomaly also corresponds to anomalous grab samples and is along strike of two large vein occurrences.
Prospecting: Prospecting was completed contemporaneously with the soil survey and resulted in the collection of 72 grab samples. See figure 4. Most of these samples were of quartz veining with
multiple samples collected from the same vein. The most significant gold values were returned from sample MCR00868 which returned values of .22g/t Au and 0.1 % Cu. This sample was of a large quartz vein with strong red stain and local pyrite and malachite mineralization. Other anomalous results include 2 samples taken from the Reliance Mine area, which returned anomalous Zn values of 0.3% and 0.2% from samples MCR00835 and MCR00839 respectively. Also samples MCR00833, MCR00834, MCR00836 and MCR00837 returned significant Zn values of 0.74%, 0.71%, 0.54% and 0.72% respectively. Significant quartz veining was discovered at a number of localities. The most noteworthy of these was at Station 1. Here a large outcrop of veining was discovered in a small bog with a large quartz ridge 5m by 5m by 3m high on the southeastern comer of the bog. 15m to the west of this quartz ridge was a strongly deformed mafic unit which when followed 10m north lead to another large vein which had an orientation of 350/60 and ranged from 1m to 3m wide with a strike length of 30m. This vein (Love Rock) was mineralized with trace pyrite and malachite and had strong red staining throughout. Nine samples were taken from this vein, 6 of which returned anomalous Au values ranging from 7ppb to .22g/t Au. They were all slightly elevated in As with values ranging from 113ppm to 174ppm. Cu was also elevated, 17ppm to 1028ppm, and appeared to be directly associated with the Au values. There were also slightly anomalous Zn values ranging from 21 ppm to 176ppm.
This veining at Love Rock, also corresponds to the intersection of two soil anomaly trends and is along strike of a large quartz outcrop 300m to the south. This southern quartz vein is not part of Rubicon's Manitou property but consists of a large vein <5m wide by 20m long, locally mineralized with pyrite. It is stylolitic with multiple phases of fluid injection and the host is a strongly foliated mafic unit. The vein seems to continue but it cut off by bog on both ends along strike. There also appears to be a topographical expression of a fault, which trends northwest southeast along the same trend of these veins.
7.0 Recommendations
Though small historic mining operations were active in the early part of the century on and adjacent to the property, little work has been performed on the DrydenlRed Lake showing or throughout the property. Regional property wide evaluation is definitely warranted.
During initial prospecting and property visits in 2005 and 2006 of the Manitou Property it has exhibited potential with regards to high-grade gold and base metal mineralization. The area has historically returned high-grade Au values of lOozit Au (Bjorkman Grab) and 233g/t (Rubicon Grab) and it contains numerous historic gold and base metal occurrences, including historic small-scale producers. The completed soil surveys are very helpful in defining potential Au bearing structures and with the continued logging in the area new areas will be readily accessible for detailed soil surveys. It is recommended to complete a detailed airborne mag and EM survey over the property. This detailed survey would help in confirming known gold bearing structures defined by prospecting and soil sampling and help in defining new similar structures. It is also recommended to excavate the area of Love Rock. Even though the results are only slightly anomalous this area contains a large quartz vein over a significant strike length.
Soil sampling has proved itself a very valuable and reliable tool in defining anomalous gold bearing structures and localities over the Manitou property. It is therefore recommended to complete a program of reconnaissance soil sampling throughout the property with particular attention being paid to the colour of the material collected and the local topography. More detailed soil surveys should be completed over prospective structures and mag anomalies.
Also, further work is recommended at the DrydenlRed Lake showings. More prospecting in the vicinity of the DrydenlRed Lake showings is warranted and work should focus along strike of the showings and along strike of the structure defined by soil sampling.
