Hendrick MatshogaB2B Technical Maintenance Engineer Total South Africa - EXHIBITOR
I enjoyed the good mix of emerging and established contractors wanting to know the importance of estimating building costs to overcome some of the challenges we are facing within the construction industry.
Being in the painting industry, I managed to meet some new suppliers and learn more about the latest painting and waterproofing solutions in the market.
Our experience of the show has been great, we managed to engage with a lot of prospective businesses which we hope will turn into mutually beneficial relationships.

KEY LEARNING AND NETWORKING FEATURES
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT FORUMThe African Union believes the birth of Agenda 2063 came from the realisation by African leaders that there was a need to refocus and reprioritise Africa’s agenda. The master plan is to transform Africa into the global powerhouse of the future.
Against this background, the Stakeholder Engagement Forum worked closely with the National African Federation for the Building Industry (NAFBI) to allow leaders in the construction industry to inspire action by delivering their blueprint for transforming Africa’s built environment.
We were delighted that new Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development and Property Management, Tasneem Motara joined the strategic discussion, as well as Jacob Mamabolo, now Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Road Infrastructure.
CITY OF JOHANNESBURG MAYORAL NETWORKING SESSION
The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba opened the African Construction and Totally Concrete Expo and welcomed participants to an exclusive networking session which hosted international dignitaries from Germany, Greece, Turkey, Italy, India, Russia as well as key stakeholders in the forefront of the construction industry to showcase the City’s plan for inner city rejuvenation and over 80 properties which present a host of exciting opportunities for the industry.
Ali Mohlala, Chairperson – Brakpan Chamber of Commerce and Industry - VISITOR
The African Construction Expo was a great learning experience and I am amazed at the technological advancements of the construction industry in South Africa.
