Please visit our website, sign up for our weekly email blast, and look through our newsletter to find out about them. Please keep spreading the word about what we have to offer to your friends and co-workers. The larger our membership grows, the more fun events we can offer for your entertainment and enjoyment. The closing of the North Palm Beach Country Club has been postponed until the end of January. It will not reopen for at least 18 months. Our final meeting there will be in January. Starting in February, we will be moving to the Marriott in Palm Beach Gardens. The Gators will celebrate the start of our fall season with an exciting free party with the theme of “It’s All About the Fun!” on the evening of Saturday, September 23rd. This amazing event, organized by your VP of Socials / VP of Special Activities, Debbi Haselmire, will showcase our ski trips, special activities trips, and socials. We will be entertained on the dance floor by an incredible DJ, Bone Daddy Dave. Join your fellow Gators for a fun-filled weekend from October 6th-8th as the pirates invade Ft. Myers Beach. Our motel is in the heart of the festival and walking distance to beach, shops, and restaurants. The Pirate Fest event features a pub quest crawl, pirate's ball, sea battles, marketplace, and entertainment. Please contact event organizer Debbi Haselmire for more information. Coming up on Saturday, October 28th is our Halloween Party at the American Legion Hall in Tequesta. The theme is “A Blast from the Past,” where you can take a step back in time to the great decades of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s, and dress up in your favorite retro costume…poodle skirt, beatnik, hippie, disco, rocker, punk….let your imagination run wild! There will be prizes for the best costumes. This fun party will feature a DJ, food, and a cash bar. The deadline to sign up and pay is October 26th, so please don’t delay. This fun event is not to be missed! Our 2018 winter ski destinations include Winter Park, Colorado; Steamboat, Colorado; Andorra and Barcelona, Spain; Taos, New Mexico; Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Sierra Nevada, Spain. Two trips, Jackson Hole and Sierra Nevada, are taking wait list applicants. Please sign up soon to get the trip of your choice. Please visit our website, read our weekly email blast, and download our newsletter regularly to keep up with our trips. Look for our new, spectacular Special Activities trips to exotic destinations coming up in 2018. Our cruise to Cuba in April and our Danube Bike and Barge in September are already listed on our website. Our New Zealand trip will be up soon. The Gators have been experiencing an awesome August with two major trips and two beachfront getaways. I was privileged to be part of the Alaska trip, and enjoyed fabulous scenery on a marvelous cruise and land package with other Gators. (I thank our Past President, Evie Houston, for leading the August meeting in my absence.) Club members also just returned from the fabulous Valle Nevado, Chile trip led by Lee Chitty. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you, Lee, for doing a great job! Our beachfront getaway weekends, the Weekend Getaway to Pirate's Cove in Port Salerno and the Key Largo Adventure Weekend, were also fantastic. Kudos to Lee Chitty for leading the first one and to Deb Haselmire for organizing the second. Thank you, Ben Smith, for organizing the Blue Jeans Night Out in August. Everyone had a great time, and we all enjoyed the snacks and each other’s company. Come to our regular Friday night happy hours, arranged for you by Debbi Haselmire with input from the Social and Special Activities Committee. Happy hour is a great way to start the weekend with your Gator friends. We have included some new and exciting venues mixed in with club favorites. If you have any ideas for happy hours, please contact Debbi. The volunteers on our Social and Special Activities Committee are working hard to bring you great parties, events, and trips this year. If you have an idea for an event, please bring it to the committee. If you would like to get more involved, please join the committee, volunteer to lead an event or trip, or offer to assist other officers. Membership Renewals for New Club Year Starting June 1, 2017 Our 2017-2018 membership year began on June 1, 2017. In order to participate in most of our trips and
weekend events, you must be a member. Please take the time to renew your membership. Your dues are
used to pay for our operating expenses, our Membership Picnic, and the free food you get at many of our
meetings. Please support your Club. Member name tags are available upon request at our general meetings.
Membership applications can be downloaded on-line at our website at www.gatorsnowskiclub.com. They are
also available to fill out at our general meetings. Dues are $40 per year for single memberships and $60 for
family memberships. You can mail in your application, turn it in at a meeting, or pay on-line with a credit
card. For your convenience, a membership application is included on the following page of this newsletter.

Your Club Needs Volunteers! Your Club Needs Volunteers!
We are looking for volunteers in several categories to help our Club succeed in the 2016-2017 year that
started on June 1st.
Social and Special Activities Planning Committee—We need more members to help with our
events and activities. If you have ideas for new events that you would like to help implement, come to our
next meeting. We meet every month on a Tuesday at a date and location that will be shown on the
website under the All Events Calendar. Come at 6:30 PM to order food and drinks. The meeting starts at
