bring hazardous household
materials such as oil-based
paints, paint-related prod-
ucts, pesticides, poisons,
household products contain-
ing organic solvents, ignita-
bles, aerosols, and recharge-

fills & lowers the environ-
mental risks associated with

in a healthier environment.
How many times have you asked yourself, is this
recyclable? A recent survey indicated that 47% of
Americans would recycle more if they knew what
to recycle. Let’s fix that for Stoughton!
Stoughton has
Single Stream
Recycling!
Single-stream recycling is the industry name for a new system that changes the way people sort, collect and pro-cess recyclables. Single-stream means mixing recyclables in one container, and collecting them in one com-partment of a truck and processing the mixed load.
One of the Fastest Growing Waste Streams in America!
Millions of devices are be-
ing thrown out each year in
the United States.
Computers, TVs, cell phones,
and other electronics contain
valuable materials that can
be recovered through respon-
sible recycling. Electronics
also potentially contain haz-
ardous materials, such as
lead and mercury, that can
pose a risk to human health
and the environment if not
properly managed.
Stoughton Residents can
recycle electronics through
several means:
1) Our Stoughton Public
Works Department
2) Recycle through the city’s
trash and recycling supplier,
Johns Disposal Service 3)
Wisconsin E-Cycle Providers
4) Many office supply stores
offer free and fee recycling.
Staples® Sustainability Pro-
ject has a free e-cycling pro-
gram that allows computers,
monitors, and many other
devices to be recycled for
free.
