Achiever

They want to measure their success by activity. They are passionate about defeating diabetes and are likely to participate in the fundraising events and even chairing them. They will be at the gym tracking their progress and most likely to be in a weight loss commercial.

DIABETES DEFEATERS PLAYER TYPE 2

Explorer

The explorer will use education to defeat diabetes. They like to read up on new information regarding the disease. They will explore all the ways to manage the disease with food choices and medicine. They are also the ones on Web MD.

SOLUTIONS/MECHANICS 1 CHALLENGES

Create challenges involving participation in local events like “Walk to Stop Diabetes”. Experience points will be given based on participation. This will appeal to achievers. Explorers will have challenges that give experience points for enrolling in a diabetes management program.

SOLUTIONS/MECHANICS 2 BADGES

Badges are given for reading articles and watching videos regarding diabetes awareness/education. Badges can also be given for downloading a healthy recipe or attending a training webinar.

SOLUTIONS/MECHANICS 3 LEVELS

Integrate a health/fitness portal like one created by EMEE. It will allow you to measure your progress. Achievers can go for status and Explorers can go for mastery.

Smoothie Green!

Players will be able to select from a list of ingredients. They will be score on taste and health value. This will be great for children with diabetes.

GI Go!

Players will learn about the Glycemic Index (GI)and learn how to create healthy meals by playing a game involving food choices and cooking methods. They get to share their best creations.
