347 Ten years after friends call us UNKL347

http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2008/12/07/ten-years-after-friends-call-us-unkl347.html

What started as an attempt by a couple of youngsters in Bandung, West Java, to create clothes

that represented their personalities (creative and fun-loving) and interests (skateboarding, music

and graphic design) has become a growing business that has helped shape the youth culture in

Bandung and other cities in Indonesia.

Now, UNKL347, a pioneer indie clothing company in Bandung that has helped create a tight

community of Bandung's indie music and art scene, is celebrating its creative engagement by

releasing a design book containing a selection of 12 years worth of work.

Dendy, who has a laid-back flare, said the company was not concerned with making a profit from

the sales of the book.

"We want to make history, we want to contribute.

"The book can travel worldwide, it can land in Singapore, Malaysia, and people will know our

works better," he said.

Fashion critic Samuel Mulia contributed a piece on how both high-fashion and indie fashion

dictates the way people dress.

The company inspired others to open up clothing companies and sparked a wave of indie clothing

trend in Bandung. Now, one can find several distros(distribution outlets selling indie clothing) in

Bandung, such as Monik, Airplane, Ouval and Wadezig, among others. These labels have become

household names for stylists from youth programs on MTV Indonesia and teen fashion magazines.

UNKL347 also became part of the indie music, nightlife and art exhibition scene in Bandung. The

people in UNKL347 organized events and underground parties, documented in zines such

as Trolley and Ripple.

“The company inspired others to open up clothing

companies and sparked a wave of indie clothing trend in

Bandung. ”

PETERSAYS Denim

Originally founded in Indonesia by Peter in 2008.

Quickly exploded into a major trend, appearing on MTV

and supporting major bands Worldwide. Now we're

ready to extend PETERSAYSDENIM to Canada.

PETERSAYSDENIM was established in 2008 as Peter

Firmansyah saw an opportunity to market through

music and fashion. As part of the music scene in

Indonesia, Peter is well known and quickly established

a very successful brand, appearing on MTV Indonesia

and in various stores throughout Indonesia.

After endorsing many bands in North America such as,

Every Time I Die and Silverstein, Peter decided

to expand by placing representation for

PETERSAYSDENIM in North America.

PETERSAYSDENIM has reached out to open a

processing warehouse in Ontario to service North

America and the label is quickly catching on in Canada

and the US. PETERSAYSDENIM is regularly

collaborating with not only music artists but also

organizations such as, Skate4Cancer. By continually

coming out with new lines and supporting the music

scene, PETERSAYSDENIM is staying true to its roots,

by providing a brand combining music and fashion.

ARKIV Instant Born 1979 in Bandung, Indonesian artist Arkiv Vilmansa paints like pop and draws like a

cartoonist, a beautiful blend of day-glo colour and sweeping line makes for a fine collection

of powerful paintings. He's been painting, illustrating and designing cartoon-style figures

since 2005. Almost the moment after completing his Bachelor degree in Architecture Arkiv

took a sharp career turn into the urban arts and design and hasn't looked back since. His

debut was marked with his very first vinyl figurine called “Arkiv Instant", since then he's

produced many exciting paintings, illustrations and vinyl toys including a redesign of Mickey

Mouse for Disney Asia.

Arkiv describes himself: "I'm a half animal and a half dream. "

There's a discrete undertone of social critique in his work too, cartoon violence and death

being a regular theme in his earlier works. His description reflects the same silliness and

complexity of his characters. Smiling cartoons flipping you the bird. Figures strangling each

other. Teddy bears hanging on a rope are just some of the oddities that Arkiv paints with

cheery colors and his signature curvy and graphic style.

KUASSA DSP & Audio Softwares

The 11 best VST guitar amp/effect modelling

plug-ins in the world today

http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/the-11-best-vst-guitar-

ampeffect-modelling-plug-ins-in-the-world-today-427789/12

Maybe that headline should read ‘Kuassa Amplifikation what!?’,

for there’s a good chance that you’re not familiar with this amp,

cab, distortion and mic emulator. Admittedly, some aggressive

social media marketing has helped to push the software to the

top of our chart, but we can assure you that this is a highly

versatile plug-in that’s also easy to use and keenly priced.

Guitar-slinging freeware junkies will no doubt be aware of

Aradaz' line of free plug-ins, with their guitar amp simulations

having picked up particular praise. Now the same developers

have gone commercial as Kuassa Inc, with their flagship amp

Amplifikation One aimed at amateurs and pros alike.

Get to know it and terrific results can be effortlessly achieved.

Unfortunately, the tonestack and power-amp types aren't

available for the other seven amp models.

Given that the Custom can deliver pristine, piano-like cleans

right the way through to World War III levels of piledriving

distortion, we can't help but question whether we would ever

actually use the other amps.
