Game of Thrones is a HBO networked TV show. Its purpose is to entertain its audience and shock them with the amount of gore, explicit language and visuals, and nude scenes. It entrances its audiences with complex characters and storylines.

PURPOSE

Each episode of Game of Thrones lasts 45 minutes

(50 minutes at most).

There is a serial narrative that runs throughout each series, involving a variety and mix of

the ensemble characters.

FORM & STYLE

The atmosphere of Game Of Thrones includes suspense, and tension, perfectly blended with

comedic features.

The themes include politics, warfare and sex. It highlights these themes in many of its

episodes.

The key action of Game of Thrones comes from the unfolding stories that continue through each episode that span each series. Some of these storylines even span through series. The show is set in the fantasy world of Westeros, with neighboring Essos, following the lives of families. These families, all of whom think they are rightfully entitled, are all battling to win the Iron Throne and rule over Westeros.

The meaning of Game of Thrones is debatable. In my opinion, its about the difficulties of politics, equality (including gender, sexuality and race) and how brutal life was like in those days.

MEANING

The genre of Game Of Thrones is fantasy, drama and romance. Fantasy, because of the time setting (medieval) and the involvement of dragons. Drama, because the family drama and warfare. And romance, because of the nude and sex scenes between different genders.

GENRE

The target audience include the book readers (the book of which the TV show is based on) and newcomers. The age rating for Game Of Thrones is an 18 in the UK.

TARGET AUDIENCE

There are 6 seasons currently in the franchise and each season is aired annually. There are box sets to accompany the live episodes. The show must be watched from the very first season in order for the viewer to understand the plot lines.

FREQUENCY

The production of Game of Thrones is mostly set in Belfast, but often the crew will most to more exotic locations to capture the desert scenes. It usually takes about 6 months to film an entire series.
