Education Initiative

• National String Project Consortiumo NSPC is a coalition of 40 college- and university-based String

Projects. NSPC works to increase both the number of qualified string teachers and the number of children playing stringed instruments. Its unique approach to teacher training has earned national recognition.

• GAMA's Goalo Work with NSPC member colleges to add a guitar pedagogy

component to their existing programs which currently focus only on bowed strings. We have the support of NSPC’s Executive Director, Dr. Eugene Dowdy of the University of Texas, San Antonio, who directs the only String Project that already includes guitar in its program.
