Ms. Griffin’s Gifted Class February 2019 Gadsden ’ s GIFTED GAZETTE PARENT WEBSITE National Association for Gifted Children www.gagc.org We BEGIN OUR NEW UNITS to study: Kindergarten – Solar System: Students will be learning about the planets. 1 st grade – Primarily Plants: Students will be learning about the importance of plants. 2 nd grade – Where’s the Beach- Students will be learning about beach erosion. 3 rd grade – Ancient Egypt! Students will be learning about Egyptian culture. 4 th grade – Acid, Acid, Everywhere - Students will be investigating an acid spill scenario. 5 th Grade – Autobiographies- Students will be examining life stories and self-portraits as they study literature and works from various cultures. From the Desk of Ms. Griffin Students are assigned “AT HOME” work. Each child has a WINGS communication folder. I am requesting parents check these folders on a regular basis for important information and to know the progress of your child completing assignments. The completion of these assignments will determine their GEP progress report evaluation level. Also, students must have an 80% average or above in all gifted courses, including resource, to continue in good standing.
