BOARD 0# dlbvitibtib OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM (For immediate Release) January 11, 1951 BANK DEBITS—DEBITS TO DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS EXCEPT INTERBANK ACCOUNTS Bank debits as reported by banks in 333 leading centers for the month of December aggregated 139,542 million dollars. During the past three months total debits for the same centers amounted to 388,867 million dollars or 22 per cent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 19 per cent compared with the corresponding three-month period a year ago, and at the 332 other centers there was an increase of 23 per cent.
