only in GeorGia Will you find Lookout Mountain. From this vantage point, you are able to see SEVEN states at once! The states included are: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.

Visit the Spring of Faith in Epworth. Legend has it that a farmer would not allow congregants of a nearby church use his water. During a rainstorm, the stream moved from his property to the property of the church and remains to flow there to this day.

Brunswick Stew is a classic Georgian dish that consists of shredded chicken, pork, vegetables, barbecue sauce, ketchup, po-tatoes, tomatoes, beans, and hot sauce. Everyone needs to try this at least once!

rich in history Georgia has plenty of museums and historic sites for your to visit. Just outside of LaGrange, Georgia is the Hills and Dales Estate. A historic estate once owned by the textile magnate, Fuller E. Callaway, Sr. Visitors can tour the site year round.

The state of Georgia also has a deep Civil War history and visitors can visit sites like Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield.

This was home to General Sherman’s Union Army.

In total there are five Great Lakes, Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. These lakes are interconnected and ultimately connect to the Atlantic Ocean through the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Michigan is the only U.S. state that touches four of the five Great Lakes. Michigan also has the longest freshwater shoreline in the world. You can also stand ANYWHERE in the state of Michigan and be within 85 miles of one of the Great Lakes.

MichiGan tourist attractionsNorthern Michigan, is a popular tourist destination and is home to several small to medium sized cities. SOUVINEER ALERT: Make sure to be on the lookout for Michigan’s state rock, the Petoskey rock which is both a rock and a fossil and are commonly found on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Other popular destinations in Northern Michigan include; Mackinac Island and Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Enjoy a boat ride to Mackinac Island. This entire island is a National Historic Landmark that is known for its historical preservation and restoration. As part of these preservation efforts all motorized are banned on the island. (except for emergency vehicles). In Saginaw county make sure to check out Frankenmuth, a small town that resembles a Bavarian village and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland, world’s largest Christmas store and measures in at one and a half football fields!

MichiGan’s upper peninsula and shipwreck point The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is very similar to Northern Lower Michigan. It features beautiful scenic views and many outdoor activities. Along with these

beautiful views there is also a tragic history. Whitefish Point is a critical turning point for all vesselsentering and leaving Lake Superior. There are 550 known shipwrecks lying on the bottom of the lake. 200 of these shipwrecks are at Whitefish Point. The most famous of these shipwrecks is the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald which claimed the lives of a 29 man crew in 1975.

Snow fall totals can vary throughout the region due to Lake-effect snow off of Lake Michigan, so skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter fun can be had. In the summer, be sure to take a dip in the waters of Lake Michigan. Swimming a in a lake where you can’t see the other side is a once in a life time experience.
