For Your InformationGems’ Art Show -2015, June 6th -10th

Durbar Hall Art Gallery, Kochi

Gems, aka the design team at RapidValue throw in ideas, designs, comments, a common affair as it sounds – But one fine day, a sweeping thought is born and it’s called ‘FYI’.

It reflects our passion, our love of colors and the pixels we splash. We carve the artistic talents deep down in all of us, not separated by any divides of man or technology or the job that we do daily. We dedicate this to all of you, the artists in Infopark, in Kochi at large and why not, to the entire wide world of art!

This is our baby step to hold hands with designers, the lovers and admirers of vibrant colours and the jolly folks who keep art in their heart & minds.

Over the past years the desire to commit to a social cause has been very earnest within the organization, and the need to identify a focus area has been intent.

‘FYI’ is being endeavoured as a Sustainable Development Program from the RapidValue stable. It is envisioned to be an Art Exhibition which is primarily meant to showcase the artistic talent of techies in the Kochi (Infopark) environment.

The Objective and vision of this event is to showcase Art and Designs by RapidValue Designers to the the fraternity of the Software Community in Kochi, and also to the fraternities of Artists from various other avenues.

The primary objective being of this Art Exhibition would be to serve as a platform for Designers from all walks to interact and engage.

We hope that with successive versions of FYIs to come every year, we will widen its scope to encompass various segments of the society and community. This should help to integrate talent from the world of designers onto the same platform to foster innovation and progression in the world of art.

His works directly respond to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences from the artist as a starting point. Often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context. With a subtle minimalistic approach, he weaves intense personal moments on canvas.

Melvin holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and also received a first rank in Applied Arts (Govt R. L. V College of Music & Fine Arts, Mahatma Gandhi University, India). He currently lives and works in Kochi.

Woodcut prints are produced by pressing the selected medium (usually paper) onto the inked image. If colour is used, separate wood blocks are required. Woodcut printing is sometimes referred to as xylography .
