The garden is a service learning program and it goes along with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certification). It is very important that we understand what sustainability is, and that’s what Future without Poverty is all about.

Collaboration

The Dallas County Master Gardener’s from the Texas Agricultural Extension Service were eager to collaborate with the nation’s newest university.

We learned compost is the answer because compost is feeding the soil.

Future ProjectsFuture Projects

The continued development of this project will provide on-campus service learning, leadership, and training in the nonprofit sector. Students accumulate their service learning hours by committing to various levels of participation in fundraising, building and gardening, and grant development.
