“Count Date” – The date of the actual count. (Usually a future date.)
“ABC Class” – Classification you are going to count.
“Cycle Count ID” – Unique number assigned to count for catalog purposes.
Click – ADD
System will automatically load “Assign Parts to a Cycle Count”. This can also be accessed
through INVENTORY>INVENTORY MGMT>EDIT>ASSIGN PARTS TO A CYCLE COUNT.
NOTE –
- BE SURE THE INVENTORY JOURNAL IS OPEN FOR ALL PERIODS DURING THE CYCLE
COUNT PROCESS. (I.E. IF RECONCILATION TAKES PLACE IN A MONTH AFTER ACTUAL
COUNT)
- IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO DIVIDE THE COUNT INTO SMALLER MANAGEABLE PIECES AS
OPPOSED TO ONE LARGE “WALL TO WALL” COUNT. EXAMPLES – SHELVES, ROWS,
AREA, ETC. (MULTIPLE CYCLE COUNT ID’S) THIS WILL MAKE THE DATA MORE
MANAGEABLE. SYSTEM RESPONSE WILL BE FASTER.
- A PART NUMBER CAN ONLY APPEAR ON ONE OPEN UNRECONCILED COUNT AT A
TIME.
