So a little visitor decided to set up residence in the rafters under room 4.

A big thanks to Mr Anderle who came to save the day and capture the not so

little critter and re-locate him somewhere safe. Mrs Murador declined the

invitation to be photographed with the snake as she was running as fast as her

legs would take her. Mr Carey was the brave photographer

A huge thank you to everyone for sending in photos to put into our newsletter.

FAMLY CHOCOLATE CAKE This family sized cake is simple to make and feeds a lot of people.

It can be made into smaller cakes or 1 large one. It can be made into a sandwich cake with

jam and cream on the inside also. All made in one pot with little washing up.

INGREDIENTS. CAKE 2 cups water (500mls) 3 cups sugar (660g) 250 grams butter chopped

2/3 cup cocoa powder 1 teaspoon bicarb of soda 3 cups SR flour 4 eggs lightly beaten

FUDGE FROSTING 90 grams butter 1/3 cup water ½ cup caster sugar 1 ½ cups icing sugar mixture

1/3 cup cocoa powder DECORATION Coconut,100’s and 1000’s, nuts, grated chocolate etc.

METHOD

1. Put water, butter, sugar, bicarb and cocoa powder into a large saucepan and stir

over heat without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and

simmer gently for 5 minutes (it will froth up so take care that it doesn’t spill over.

Take off the heat and cool to room temperature.

2. While it is cooling preheat oven to 180°oven and line baking tin with baking paper.

3. When cooled down add flour and eggs and beat with electric beater or whisk until

smooth and paler in colour.

4. Pour into prepared tin & bake for approximately 50 minutes or until a skewer comes

out clean. Cool on cooling rack in tin for 10 minutes before turning out to finish

cooling.
