Set Induction

+5 minutes Puzzle 2D Shapes

1. Teacher will scrambled the puzzle of a triangle shape.2. One of the pupils will be called to arrange the puzzle to form the picture properly.

3. Pupils are told the things around us that have the same shapes which are related to this topic.

To set the mood and mentally prepare pupils for the lesson. Teaching aids: Puzzle (Appendix 1)

Presentation

+15 minutes

Pronounce the word! (word inside the 2D shapes) Triangle (yell) Rectangle (box) Circle (zip) Square (fox)

1st activity:

1. Teacher puts the shapes that contain a word for each shape inside a box.

2. Teacher calls a few pupils to pick the shapes and paste on the white board.

3. The pupils that pick the shape should pronounce the word before paste it on white board.

4. After all the shapes have paste on the white board, teacher will repeat how to read the word that shows on the shapes.2nd activities:

1) Teacher pastes a text on the white board.2) Teacher reads the text first and followed by the pupils. To show the pupils how to read the words To enhance pupils reading skills.

Practice

Fill in the blanks based on given answer.

-task sheet

-individual work1. Task sheet will be given to all pupils.

2. Pupils are instructed to fill in the blanks based on the text that they have read during the presentation step.3. Teacher will assist the pupils. To gauge pupils recognition skill and assess their memory.

To increase pupils silent reading skill.

Production

Choose my sentences. Group work.

1. Pupils will be dividing into groups of three.2. Teacher gives a box that contains a few simple sentences to the groups.

3. The leader of the group must choose one sentence.

4. Each group is given 10 minutes to drill the sentence that their group have chosen. 5. All pupils will present their choice by read the sentence in group in front of class Pupils need to cooperate with their peers.

To enable pupils to complete tasks by relating it to the previous information.

Closure

Summary of the lesson. Find photos of shapes that you like and bring to the next class.

1. Teacher summarises the lesson that day.
