FUN RUN 2019... Summer is winding down-whew! at the Club, and I hope you enjoy our newsletters. Jean Atherly is one of three new Board Members who joined this spring. She has worked as the Tobacco Prevention Specialist for 13 years and has coordinated with the Club for a variety of

youth activities. “My family has always felt the Club was an important asset to our community - my husband was Program Director many years ago, and my son was on the Youth Advisory Board when he was in high school.”

meet our board...

Mary Johnson and her husband Bob came to Red Lodge in 2002 after operating a farm in ND and raising 3 children. Mary’s professional background includes working

as a speech/language pathologist, an elementary/middle school counselor, coauthoring a book, and teaching at UND. In 2010 she retired but missed the energy of kids. “I feel so honored to be a new Board member of Boys & Girls Club in Red Lodge! I feel strongly that the families of this community are so fortunate to have this Club. The environment is joyful, busy, safe, and fun.”

Judy Starr also joined the Board this spring after first spending time as a volunteer reading with the Club kids. Judy was an elementary school teacher and school psychologist

and recently retired from private practice in Billings, where she worked with children and families. “Having worked with children for over four decades, it was a privilege to join the Board – the entire community benefits from the Club. The children truly are the future for all of us.”

Club celebrated a big milestone this year! Lemonade was planned, but hot cocoa and s’mores sufficed on that cold June evening. The Club has seen many changes throughout the years, but our mission to improve the lives of kids and families remains the same.

25 Years!
