Note from Pastor David Luckert ...
A good way to start the new year: remembering and celebrating.
Remembering and celebrating our baptism.
A we have done this in past years you have responded how
meaningful you find it to be.
On January 14, I will preach on baptism and then invite you to
come forward to the baptismal waters, and “remember” and
“celebrate” your baptism.
This can be special because it reminds us of how Jesus began His
ministry - He came to John and was baptized. As we begin a new
year of ministry here, I hope we can use this as an opportunity to
recommit ourselves to service and love.
This is a good time for us to recommit ourselves:
to a more intentional prayer life;
to more regular participation in worship;
to more consistency in giving and in serving;
and paying more attention to our opportunities to live in a way
that honors Christ.
One new goal I have in ministry in the year ahead has to do with
prayer. As you know, I started the habit of praying for each of
you on your birthday. I plan on continuing that but would like to
add something to it.
I would like to pray with you in your home this year. At your
convenience and comfort I would be honored to spend a few
moments with you in conversation and prayer. I will say more
about this through worship services, but I hope you will find a
time when we can pray together - and continue to build our
relationships.
May the words of Moses and Aaron bless us (Numbers 6:24-26):
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”
