Students must : • Complete at least 1 CAS Project . • Meet 7 Learning Outcomes. • Participate in 3 documented interviews. • Write meaningful reflections and maintain a regularly updated journal. • Compile a CAS portfolio documenting their CAS experiences and projects. CAS Is NOT: • a points-scoring or hour counting, • a passive role, • any class, activity or project that is already part of the Diploma Program, • an activity for personal reward, financial or benefit-in-kind, • mundane, simple, tedious and repetitive work, • attending a passive pursuit, e.g. visiting a museum, theatre, exhibition, or a concert, • part of family or religious duty, • work experience that only benefits the student, • fundraising with no clearly defined end in sight, • an activity where there is no responsible adult on site to evaluate the performance of the student, • activities that cause division amongst different groups in the community, • working in an old people’s or children’s home when you: have no idea of how the home operates, or just making sandwiches, or have no contact at all with the old people or children, actually do no service for other people.
