2.0 DESCRIPTION 2.1 Mission of the School The mission of the WHINSEC upholds the principles of the Charter of the OAS by fostering mutual knowledge, transparency, confidence, and cooperation; by promoting democratic values and respect for human rights; and by instilling knowledge and an understanding of U.S. customs and traditions. The curriculum includes instruction in leadership development, counter-illicit-trafficking and peace-support operations, and disaster-preparedness and relief planning. The combatant commanders of both U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Northern Command, in coordination with the Secretary of Defense, may direct additional training and education programs that directly support U.S. policies throughout the Western Hemisphere. The Institute is a strategic tool in both peace and in conflict. 2.2 Room Physical Description Classroom 1 is a large auditorium-style classroom. It features a dedicated control and translation booths at the rear of the classroom and a stage in the front. Classroom 1 has the following features:
Size: 38’ wide by 111’ long Ceiling height: 9’ Ceiling: 2’ by 4’ ceiling tiles Lighting: 2’ by 4’ fluorescent light fixtures Floor: carpet Furniture: student seats

3.0 DESIGN 3.1 Scope of Work WHINSEC has requested an integrated audio visual system for Classroom 1 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Pragmatics shall install audio visual systems with the following features and capabilities:
3.1.1 Displays Pragmatics shall provide and ceiling mount two (2) Panasonic 6000 lumen wide format LCD projectors which shall project onto two (2) Da-Lite 130” wall mounted electric wide format projection screens. Pragmatics shall provide two (4) ceiling mounted 60” plasma flat panel displays which will be ceiling mounted in the walkways for auxiliary viewing. The instructor will have two (2) displays at the podium: one (1) standard Dell monitor and one (1) SMART Technologies Sympodium. The SMART Technologies Sympodium can also be considered a system source as it allows for digital annotation of video content that is routed to it. In the control booth, Pragmatics shall provide two (2) additional computer monitors which will serve as preview monitors for the control booth attendant. This will allow the control booth attendant to view any camera while in a meeting and ‘set up’ the next shot. In the translation booth, Pragmatics shall also provide two (2) additional computer monitors that will serve as preview monitors for the translation booth. The podium touch panel, while not intended to serve as a display, will be capable of displaying system images such as camera views.
3.1.2 Sources System sources shall consist of:
One (1) Pragmatics provided dedicated instructor computer located in the instructor podium. The instructor PC will be equipped with a dual output video card, which will allow users to either extend the desktop over two (2) displays (at the podium, typically the Dell monitor and Sympodium). One (1) additional auxiliary laptop input at the podium One (1) laptop input in the control booth One (1) AV cabinet mounted Blu-ray player,

Three (3) high definition pan/tilt/zoom cameras One (1) video teleconferencing codec.
3.1.3 Audio Pragmatics shall provide a total of four (4) wired, gooseneck push-to-talk microphones and three (4) wireless microphone receivers. Each wireless receiver will come with a lavalier style microphone/ wireless belt pack and hand held wireless microphone. One (1) of the four (4) wired microphones will be installed at the instructor’s podium, one (1) will be installed in the control booth and two (2) will be installed in the translation booth. All three (3) wireless receivers will be AV cabinet mounted. Only four (4) wireless microphones will be useable at one time, as one lavalier and one hand held will both be set to one receiver’s frequency. Pragmatics will provide floor box connectivity for six (6) additional wired microphone connections on the stage. The translation booth microphones will feed two (2) school provided FM transmitters. Translators will be able to sit in the translation booth, utilize a Pragmatics provided headset to hear an active presentation or meeting, and speak into the booth microphone to transmit translated audio content. The booth operator will also have the ability to set the feed to the FM transmitters so that attendees can also hear non-translated audio through the translation receivers to satisfy ADA compliance requirements for assistive listening. Audio reinforcement within the room will be achieved with three (3) zones of two (2) Renkus-Heinz wall mounted speakers. This will allow each zone to be set at their own level, allowing for audio coverage uniformity within the room. In the control booth, a single Renkus-Heinz self powered speaker will enable the booth operator to listen in to an active meeting or class.
3.1.4 Control Pragmatics shall provide two (2) Crestron 12” touch panels and two (2) button panels for system control. One (1) of the two (2) touch panels will be installed at the podium, the other will be installed in the control booth. The two (2) button panels will also be installed in the translation booth.
