Utilising our MaxiGRATE technology, our FRP
walkways offer a huge range of applications
from single safety steps to world-first footbridge
installations. Composite Engineering has de-
signed and fabricated these, and everything in
between.
Elevated walkway access to essential tank valves
and switchgear, as well as bund access and pipe
cross overs are common areas where composite
walkway structures are used every day.
For the ultimate in unmatched corrosion and chemical resistance with strength, long-life and safe-
ty, even in the harshest environments. Our FRP walkways will outlast any steel, stainless steel or
aluminium walkway.
Standard FRP Walkway System
Composite Engineering’s MaxiGRATE and
MaxiSTRUCT products carry a flame-spread
index (rating) of 25 or less when tested in ac-
cordance with the ASTM E-84 standard, while
also meeting the ASTM D-635 extinguishing
requirements.
Where conventional metallic products are
heavy and awkward to install, Composite
Engineering FRP walkways and Roof Access
Walkways, are engineered using our
MaxiGRATE and MaxiSTRUCT to install faster
and easier than anything else, directly to the
roof panels without damage, while lasting
longer than any other material.
Enjoy peace of mind with no ongoing maintenance required.
Finished with anti-slip walkway surfaces that
meet and exceed Australia Standards, you can
be assured that your new walkway structure will
be a set-and-forget installation, with little to no
maintenance required by utilising our
MaxiGRATE FRP Grating.
Composite Engineering’s FRP Walkways and
Roof Access Walkways are proven to deliver
years of reliable service, even in demanding
corrosive environments.

Introducing the Advantage Series
With Fiberglass Reinforced Polymers (FRP) be-
coming evermore widely used in the design
and manufacturing of infrastructure projects
nationally, Composite Engineering are leading
the way with specific customised MaxiSTRUCT
profile designs that make for easy fabrication
and onsite installation.
CE Advantage Series substructure is ideal for
use for Boardwalks, Platforms, Jetties, Walkways
and similar structures.
Built around the versatile MaxiSTRUCT 182 Series
Channel section, structures can be designed and
engineered to virtually any kPa capacity by varying
the size and quantity of internal profiles. The 182
channel is capable of receiving a variety of standard
internal profiles including SHS, I Beams and Wide
Flange Beams.
The Advantage system can sit atop a range of
footing systems, with options available for
environmental and culturally sensitive areas.
MaxiGRATE™

A new direction
CE Advantage Series structures offer the ultimate flexibility using the clever interlocking system that
makes changing alignment direction a simple process.
Whether the modules are prefabricated
or constructed on site, the interlocking
system can be adjusted to suit any
angle change required, ideal for
weaving in and out of the way of trees
or any environmentally challenging
areas.
Just another CE Design Advantage.
The hidden fixing system eliminates exposed
bolt heads, crews, rivets or any other fixing. This
feature reduces any risk of potential OHS issues
that could arise from loose bolts or screws. Kick
rail bolts are hidden away inside the profile and
sealed with access caps.
The Composite Engineering design team can
provide a wide range of designs for a myriad of
applications or alternatively can supply CAD
drawings for engineers to utilise in independent
designs.

Roof Access Walkways
For the ultimate in unmatched corrosion resistance with strength, long-life and safety,
Composite Engineering’s Roof Access Walkway is proven to deliver years of reliable service,
even in demanding corrosive environments. Where conventional metallic products are heavy
and awkward to install, Composite Engineering Roof Access Walkway installs faster and easier
than anything else, directly to the roof panels without damage, while lasting longer than any
other material. Enjoy peace of mind with no ongoing maintenance required.
Combining installation savings on labour and equipment with additional reductions with
low maintenance, long service life and worker safety, and fibreglass moulded grating offers
a life-cycle cost that is considerably lower than those of traditional materials. Standard pan-
els are 615 wide x 3660mm long, and weigh less than 15kgs each!
Our standard colour range for MaxiGRATE Roof Access Walkways are safety yellow and light
grey. The surface treatment includes the industry-leading anti-slip quartz grit, and panels can
be joined using our specially designed joiner strips. Composite Engineering moulded gratings
carry a flame-spread index (rating) of 25 or less when tested in accordance with the ASTM E-84
standard, while also meeting the ASTM D-635 extinguishing requirements.
