Page 1: Front page skill development

Firstly for my magazine I have added my medium close up image for the cover and scaled it.

Page 2: Front page skill development

Then rasterized the layer so that I can adjust the picture to my desires of the cover.

Page 3: Front page skill development

Next I have selected the image using the magnetic lasso tool and adjusted the areas it missed with the red so that the out cut of the image is tidy.

Page 4: Front page skill development

Next I have select> inverse to delete the background of the image so that I just have the cut of the model for my cover.

I then free transformed the image of the cover model so that I could enlarge it to the scale of my magazine cover.

For the title of my cover ‘Katie’ I in filled the writing with a pink to stay true to the house style of my magazine and added a outer glow to make the name stand out more as a cover story.

For my front cover flash box I just chose a shape from the tool bar. Choosing this shape as it intriguing and eye catching.

I then added a outer glow to the shape to make it stand out and seem more feminine. (As the target audience is females and its pop).

I then added a stroke to the shape again to give it a little something else. Making it stand out as it’s one of the main advertisements on the front cover, something that makes people want to buy my magazine.

To the main cover line on my front cover I’ve added stroke. To make it stand out.

I’ve also added a outer glow on the box so it stands out and doesn’t blend with the background of the cover.

I’ve also here adjusted the opacity of the flash box so that the box doe stand out on the cover yet it’s not just one block colour and blends well with the rest of what’s going on on the cover.

For the cover lines on the front cover I have added stroke to the writing so that it almost looks 3D. Making it stand out and intriguing.

Here is the overall image of the cover lines and banner at the top of the cover.

Here I have also added opacity to all of the coverlines and slightly on the top of the page banner. I have again done this so that the coverlines stand out yet not appear as just one block of colour, so they are there but they are not to overpowering.

I have also added a outer glow to the giveaway box at the bottom of the page so it is in fitting with the rest of the text and coverlines/banner on the cover.

I have again made the giveaway box a little opaque so that it fits in with the cover lines and overall appearance of the front cover.

For my Coral Girl interview on the cover I have added photos to go with the cover line. I have added a outer glow to the photos to make them stand out on the cover.

Here is how I have adjusted my masthead to be in fitting with me cover. Turning the ‘The’ on the side of the edge. Underneath the masthead it states ‘POP, Fashion, goss’ just advertising what the magazine consists of.

I have next added a box to the outing of the masthead to separate it from the ‘Pop fashion goss’. Also to overall just make it stand out as the Masthead more.

Here is how I originally planned to have my masthead yet as I progressed with the production of my front cover I have kept it to a similar style yet kept it the same design.
