From the TrusteesThe members of the Trustees and Elders Boards would like to thank all the members of the Redeemer congregation and those friends of the congregation for the support that you have given us in the past and during this time of transition.

As we move forward in the Lord’s work, we face many challenges in the coming weeks, months and years, and some of those challenges may seem overwhelming. They are not. We have met with representatives of the Eastern District to assess our needs, discuss our shortcomings and strengths and to find a way forward together to transform those shortcomings into strengths.

We ask for your support, your prayers, your patience and your belief in our mission as messengers of the Good News!

Tribute To Father’s DayWhat Makes a Dad

God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it … Dad

Congratulations to Brother James Lavoy, who accepted the call to serve at the Calvary Moravian Church in Allentown, PA. Your stay with us at Redeemer was a wonderful and renewing experience, and we wish you God’s grace and mercy in your ministry to His kingdom.

LOOKING OUT FOR THE KINGDOMChristian Education in Action

(Part 2)

For the month of June, we will continue where we left off, last month (May), concerning Christianity and what we believe as Christians and a parallel from another religion of the world. So, let me continue, first with Christianity……GOD….There is one true God, Creator and Savior, existing in three eternal persons – Father, Son, and Holy spirit, each equal in divine nature but distinct in personhood and role. CHRIST… Jesus is fully divine and fully human – perfect God and perfect man. He died to pay the penalty for sin, rose bodily from the dead, and will come again, someday. Scripture… The Old and New Testaments constitute the inspired Word of God. They are without error in the original writings and serve as the final authority for doctrine and practice. Salvation. . People are saved only by the free gift of God’s grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, not by works. Salvation is of the whole person- body and spirit, not just the spirit alone.Name of Religion “Jehovah’s” Witness

Key Issues: God - Jehovah Christ - A created Angel Scripture – The New World Translation Salvation – By Faith and Works

GOD…Jehovah is the proper name of the Jehovah’s witnesses, and none other will suffice. He is the Supreme Creator and Ruler of the Universe, and He is not a Trinity.Christ..Jesus was Jehovah’s first creation. Before he was conceived in Mary and became a man, he was Michael the Archangel. He became Michael again, upon his resurrection, which was not physical but spiritual and immaterial.Scripture.. Jehovah’s Witnesses recognize the New World Translation of the Bible as “Divine Revelation”. Its accurate interpretation comes only through the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania.Salvation… Jesus is the mediator of the “New Covenant”, for 144.000 anointed believers who will enjoy Heaven. All other sheep “must become Christ’s earthly subjects, by keeping his laws and obeying His commands.RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD

1. CHRISTIANITY2. BUDDHISM3. HINDUISM4. ISLAM5. JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES6. JUDAISM7. MORMONISM8. SCIENTOLOGY

Of all the religions of the world, Christianity is unique, because we are saved by Grace through Faith. The Gospel according to John, was written so that its reader might believe that Jesus is the promised savior, the son of God, and that through their faith in him, they may have life (John 20:31). There is only one question I ask: Do You Believe This?

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Reach Out-Pass Hindrance-provide Awareness

Redeemer was the site for a Musicians Workshop, sponsored by the R.O.P.H.A. ministries, held 5/24, 5/25, culminating in concert on Sunday 5/26. The participants belonged to different churches and were of different faiths, but worshipped One God. Their mission is to support young musicians that have said ‘Yes’ to Christ, ‘No’ to the world. Following the concert, in which a couple of our own choir members participated, a young man who is currently in music classes and plays 4 instruments, was monetarily honored, so that he could continue his studies. This was a memorable weekend.
