We are all looking forward to a busy and produc:ve term. The children have all come back refreshed and seem happy to be here. Term 2 is always a busy learning term. We have a few extra ac:vi:es so please make sure you regularly check dates in the newsle>er. All teachers have organised great programmes for the children. I look forward to seeing the personal progress the children will make. Please note that we are having Personal Learning Mee:ngs with children and their parents on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of term. We would really like all parents to a>end these mee:ngs as they are beneficial for your child personal progress. As you know Maungaturoto school is part of the Twin Coast Kahui Ako. Our main focus is Well-Being – especially for our children but also for our staff, our parents and wider community. We put a lot of emphasis on our CARE values to ensure we have a strong culture within our school. We encourage everyone to care for and look out for each other. Occasionally we do not know when a child is having problems or is unhappy. If you are no:cing this behaviour in your child please contact us. You can either talk or email the class teacher, or Rose Cave ( [email protected]), our Deputy Principal or myself ([email protected]). To encourage the wellbeing off everyone, this term we will have a weekly Well-Being Hint in the newsle>er. A posi:ve result of the Kahui Ako is the Twin Coast Learning Support Programme that is in our area every Wednesday. Please see a>ached flyer and :metable. PTA Annual General Mee?ng: Next Tuesday the PTA are holding their AGM. The PTA are a very important part of our school. The work they do and the money they raise helps our children have experiences and equipment that the BOT could not afford. It would be really great to see a good turn out of parent at this mee:ng. Measles Fact Sheet. The Northland District Health Board have asked that everyone reads the sheet a>ached to this newsle>er. BOT Elec?ons are coming up- Please see the ad on page 3. SWIMMING POOL KEYS Reminder that all swimming pool keys need to be returned. We have a huge number still outstanding. PLEASE RETURN ASAP!

From The Principal...My holiday was on my birthday and my dad’s too. I rode my horse by myself. Twinkle is my pony’s name. By Jamie I went to the beach and I went in the water.

At Maungaturoto school we have been recycling our scrap paper and making paper bricks to sell.
It has been hard work!!! These work like a slow burning log but their small size makes it easier to fit them in your FIRE. We are selling these at 3 for $2 and can be bought
through the office or from Room 1.This is part of our “Enviro schools” project and
the money raised will go back into our school community.
WINTER IS HERE!!
This is a school fund raiser and money from this will go towards our Enviroschools.
All orders will need to be loaded and collected by the purchaser.
To be arranged when firewood is sold.Do you have your firewood sorted for winter?
This is good hot burning Macrocarpa.
We need orders before we can start cutting it up.
Orders can be placed with Kerry at the school office.
Get in quick, dont be left out in the cold this winter.
