FROM THE MANAGER’S DESK Dear Ponds Homeowners,

We are happy to announce the roll out of the new LIFESTYLE LINK on our LandArc website. This link will enable you to check upcoming events, register & pay for events, read the Ponds monthly newsletter at your leisure and keep up with your favorite community clubs and committees. Look for more info in an upcoming email blast soon.

Refinishing of the floors in the Farmhouse and Cottage is complete. Everything looks great. Elegant Hardwood Floors, who did the original floor finishing in 2008 did a fantastic job for us. They finished on time and on budget.

Pine straw mulch and new summer annuals will be installed in the next couple of weeks so that we are in tip top shape for the Annual Southern Flame BBQ event at the end of the month.

We are still seeing some golf carts on the grass and sidewalks around the Farmhouse and pool. Please keep carts in the parking areas to avoid damage to the turf beds and irrigation system. Some folks have suggested we post signs, but that detracts from the antique feel of the Farmhouse and surrounding area. We all need to pitch in to keep the area looking its best, and keeping the walkways clear for foot traffic.

The new construction road is almost finished. The low/wet areas have necessitated some addition work time. Hopefully it will be complete and construction vehicle traffic on Hundred Oaks Parkway to a minimum soon. When the new road is finished, the signage at the traffic circle will change. Please be aware of this and be careful while everyone gets accustom to the new flow.

Baytree Landscape will be trimming the trees along the roadways in April. These trees will become County property as the roads are deeded over to them soon. When that happens we’ll need everyone to periodically prune the trees along their lots. You all have been mowing and edging the turf in that area already. Recently a homeowner asked about holding a pool party for one of their children’s graduation party. We are unable to accommodate private parties at the pool. Homeowners are allowed to host 4 guests only at the pool. When you reserve the Farmhouse and/or Pavilion for private parties your guests may not access the pool. The community is growing at the rate of over 100 new families per year, so space on the pool deck is at a premium, and of course we want to give Ponds residents first access.

Best regards,

Steve Grimes

Introducing our newest team member... You may have noticed a new face at the Farmhouse. We would like to introduce to you our new Assistant Lifestyle Director, Julie Anne McCormick. Julie is originally from southern California. She moved to the

Charleston area 3 years ago due to her husband’s job relocation. She has extensive experience in planning events for government agencies and corporations in both internal and external affairs. Julie has already contributed to our team and we are happy to have her aboard.

Your Covenants Corner: Last month we mentioned the need for mailbox cleaning. We saw a few of you had washed the boxes and posts, but there are still a few that are in need of repair. Posts need to be straight, boxes level, and posts painted. No wrapped boxes please. It’s important that we present the community in its best light, so please do what you can to get your box & post up to Ponds standards.

Special Thanks to the following homeowners who have pitched in to make

your recent social events successful:

Carmen Gaitano, Linda Rogers, Angie and Patti Anziano, Ellen Gott, Cathy Gifford, Jim Scheihing, Debbie Dodson, Susie Townsend, Stephen Bell,

Gary and Nancy Lapanne, Doug Channer, Mike and Kathy Enzbigilis, Tom Russo,

Dan and Terri Whiteman, Sandy Stachowski, Shawn Griffin, Pat Kreuzer, and David and Carolyn Perry.

Our sincere apologies if we’ve overlooked anyone.

Please remember—it takes a village

to create a vibrant social events scene, and a hometown atmosphere

here at The Ponds. Your participation with planning and executing

these events is welcome, welcome, welcome!

Please contact your Lifestyle Director Tracy Lopez at: [email protected]

if you can contribute your valuable time to the

Ponds Social Events Team.
