July 2015 Wilsonville Moose Lodge, LOOM #1598 & WOTM #1824 1 From the Administrator Summer has definitely started out acting like a true summer, and not the “normal” Oregon summer of partly cloudy interspersed with rain. So come on down to the lodge to enjoy the yard. Thanks go to Michelle Smith, who has come forward to ensure that the lawns and flowers get the water they need. There are many new faces in the lodge, what with the many new members who have joined. So, be certain to give them a big Moose welcome. Additionally, we have added three new bartenders so be kind, both because they are new and because they are volunteers. Your generosity will be much appreciated. July is a rather Moose-filled month! First off, Governor Paul, Junior Graduate Regent Judie, Co-worker Norma, and I will travel to Nashville for the International Convention. With the temps and humidity in Nashville forecasted in high numbers, I am thinking quick movements from one AC bastion to another, but time will tell. July 4th is the first Saturday. This is one of our lodge’s “Burn Your Own Meat” potlucks. The double grill will be set up for your use. We ask that you bring a side dish to share. The District 3 meeting will be held at the St. Helens Lodge on July 11th. If you can, plan to attend, for this would be a great “two-fer”—your chance to be a part of the district meeting and to check out a very nice lodge. “The information contained herein is confidential and privileged and shall be available to and used by good standing members of the Loyal Order of Moose for Fraternal purposes only. The 40th Anniversary of our lodge will be celebrated on July 18th. This will be combined with our annual Backyard Bash. The lodge will be grilling a variety of meats. Check the lodge activity board to sign up to bring a specific potluck dish to share (salad, side, or dessert). The chapter will be running some games for children and, of course, you can’t have a party without live music. Watch the weekly updates as we get closer to the date for more information.
At the end of the month (actually the first weekend in August) the Moose Legion All-State will be held in Klamath Falls.
For those of you who haven’t heard, the annual Pig Roast will be held on August 15th, with the Piggy Prep Party on the previous evening.
Roger DeVille, Administrator
From the GovernorGreetings One and All,
Our lodge is now approaching 40 years of existence and is looking a smidgen old and tired. Since the appearance and ambiance of both the exterior and interior of our lodge is an essential component to creating a warm and welcoming environment to our members and guests, I am forming a short-term “curb appeal” committee to help us compile a comprehensive list of items to fix, redecorate, tweak, etc., that can be used as a guide to help spruce up the appearance of the lodge building and grounds.
If you are interested in participating, please contact me at [email protected] or just collar me the next time you see me in the lodge. The total time commitment will be perhaps two hours every quarter to review and update the “curb appeal” list.
Thank You,Paul Ree, Governor
From the Senior RegentDear co-workers,

I hope everyone is enjoying the sun, but it sounds like you are in need of finding ways to stay cool…I guess air conditioning at the Moose is an option.
Thank you to Margi, Norma, Thelma and Judie for their hard work in making the Father’s Day Breakfast a huge success, and all was greatly appreciated.
Hooray for Laurie Martin, who won $36.00 in the 50/50 raffle at June’s Senior Regent Dinner Night. Hopefully, YOU could be the next winner!
I would also like to thank EVERYONE for such wonderful support attending and enjoying the Women’s Dinners on the 2nd & 4th Fridays of the month. That being said, don’t forget the Senior Regent Dinner and 50/50 raffle on Friday July 10th, cooked by me—Italian Chicken and the Trimmings—and the Friday July 24th dinner, cooked by Connie Jo, menu to be announced.
High-fives to Norma Frazer for her higher-degree chair and all she does for the women and the lodge.
If anyone is interested in helping with activities at the Backyard Bash, please contact our activities/sports chair Connie Jo or myself.
