British coloniesNorthern and middles colonies: Its economy is based on agriculture and commerce

Southerm Colonies:Its economy was based on agriculture (snuff, cotton and sugar). They had a lot slave labor.

Causes of independence

Seven years war: High taxes due to the war against France.

Boston tea party: Colonists throw tea to the water from the port of Boston.

Creation of an army: Created by George Washington

England wants more money and raise taxes

Taxes: The British impose high taxes

New lands:The British prevent expansion to new lands

Declaration of Independence: Thomas Jefferson proposed the declaration of independence

Take control of Boston:The British fight against the colonists.

Stamp Act: Taxes on legal documents, opposition from the colonists.

Important characters

Thomas Jefferson:Proposes the Declaration of Independence of the United States and is the main author.

Benjamin Franklin:was active in  the independence process in the United States. Contributed to the drafting of the U.S. Constitution was devoted  to the construction of the American nation.

George Washington George III:King of Great Britain and Ireland who ruled during the period that saw the loss of the British colonies

WAR

-After a first phase favorable to Britain, the conflict changed course following the victory of the colonists at Saratoga (1777).

-The Battle of Yorktown (1781) decided the result of the conflict that ended with the victory of the colonists

- In 1783 he signed the Treaty of Paris.

-Britain recognized the independence of its colonies.

Victory for the colonists

-Separation of powers: executive, legislative and judicial.

-Federal structure: Different  states capable of self-government (justice, education, police....).

-Freedom of religion, press, expression, assembly, judge, jury, deprivation of liberty, property or life.

-They are president and not king

-The northern States had a strong economy based on industries and factories

-The South still depended on slaves to work in its cotton fields

Election of 1860

-Abraham Lincoln runs for President

-Very unpopular in the south for stance on slavery and tariffs

-South threatens to secede if he wins

-Lincoln wins by receiving majority vote none are from the south

-The South Secedes.

-South Carolina leaves the Union.

-By March six other states join South Carolina.

-These States become the Confederate States of America.

-They elect Jefferson Davis as President.

First Battle of Bull Run

-First major battle

-Over 30,000 union soldiers fight 22,000 Confederate soldiers

-Thomas Jackson becomes a hero and wins the battle for the Confederacy

Emancipation Proclamation

-Lincoln always thought slavery was wrong

-After Antietam he took action

-Granted Emancipation to all slaves in states that were in rebellion only

-Slavery was still allowed in the union

Battle of Vicksburg

-Turning point of the war

-Grant’s Army laid siege to city

-Union wins full control of Mississippi River

-Confederate Army now to weak to win war

-Lincoln appoints Grant commander of all Union forces

The War is over

-Lee surrenders to Grant at Appomattox Courthouse

-5 days after Lee surrenders Lincoln is assassinated by John Wilkes Booth

-Over 620,000 Americans were killed

-Slavery was ended

-The idea of secession was answered

CONCLUSIONThe American Revolutionary War and the American Civil War were two different conflicts, many americans perished for the sake of their sake of their causes. The War of Independence gave liberty to the colonists and the civil war ended with many dead and gave freedom to many slaves.In conclusion, this work it is useful for the projects, but I think it's complicated to do the work alone, but has served me to know more about History of America.
