Overall the season has been very enjoyable, both on and off the field. I started pre-season unsure of how the teams would shape up. We had a few new players, wouldn’t call some of them footballers, more like just bodies to fill gaps! But a few weeks further on and we added more quality and things looked a whole lot better! The season started with a win, although I was absent, and as it continued we won some and we lost some. We had some truly awful performances, away at Cheney, away to Eynsham and home to Oakley, but we also has some excellent performances too, away at Slade Farm and our Best performance at home to Mansfield Road. In the end we finished mid-table, a vast improvement on previous seasons! Off the field we had some excellent social gatherings, culminating in a very successful trip to Butlins. Finally, the most pleasing aspect of the season for me was the way both teams supported each other, including a very enjoyable ‘Away Day’ at Boughton & North Newington! Looking forward to an even more successful season next year! Well what can I say about our season! I really should start by giving out a big thank you to Paul Peedell. The reserve team would have ceased to be if Paul hadn’t taken on the job at the start of the season. So we all owe you a big thanks! The season started pretty badly, in fact it couldn’t have started much worse. We suffered heavy losses most weeks and struggled to field a team at times. But one good thing was that everyone just got on with it and turned out the next week to try and improve on the previous. Eventually more players signed to the club and it gave both me and Joe new options. We put in some really good performances especially our home game vs Bletchingdon and to be honest some of us believed we were playing like a team much higher up the league. Personally I believe our two worst performances were, away at Marston and away at Horspath. As mentioned before our best performance in my eyes was Bletch at home. A 2-2 draw which we were unlucky not to win. Every player gave 110% and I’m sure we’ll see more of that next season. In the end we managed to finish in what we hoped would be a survival place and should stay up. The season has been a great laugh we’ve had some good banter and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope you have too. Thanks to all who played and I hope to see you all playing again next season. From the Dugout Michael (Joe) Taylor David Riseley
