A TREK TO PETH FORT
O n the 20th of December, 2013 the class of grade 11 went on a trek to Peth Fort situated
in Shahpur Taluka near Karjat. Our
trip to the site, from where we
would start our trek, began at 6 in the
morning and we reached our destination to
start the trek at 9am with our breakfast and
lunch. We took a halt at a village before we
began our adventure. Climbing up through
winding and narrow ways was an
experience but we all enjoyed it. We were
back at the base by 1.30 pm and we began
our descent. Our guide who accompanied
us helped us a lot and I was happy that I made it to the top as well as the other students and
back down in one piece. I really enjoyed the trip and left the place with lots of memories.

I t is our pleasure to announce the selection of the short film “Be kind, help the blind” by the Jaipur
International Film Festival as well as the Winter Film Awards 2014 in New York !
After seeing students of RBKIA perform in productions such as Oliver, The Lion King and Beauty
and the Beast Mr.Uppoor voiced his intention to me of holding auditions in our school.
Our incredibly talented students clearly convinced the director, as all four lead roles went to our students
of RBKIA !
Many of our students enjoyed a fun-packed shooting day at school under the
direction of Aditya Uppoor. Lead actors Pranav, Vansh, Aditya and Aaryan
share their experience:
Aaryan Pandit (Neil) from Grade 8
During the summer break last year, 4 of us from our school acted in a movie,
called ‘Be kind, help the blind’. This was an unbelievable experience!!! I
learnt many acting skills while shooting and I also got to record a song in a
studio! I look forward to more acting opportunities like this and hope my
acting career takes off! This was a great learning experience!
Pranav Lakhan (Arjun) from Grade 7
On the first day of the short film shoot I didn’t know what I should expect. I
was very surprised that the director had chosen me for a role in his film. At
first everything was quite new with all the bright lights, reflectors and cameras
pointing at us. But as the days passed, everything became very casual. Throughout the shoot all four of us
had a prodigious time and at the end we all had a huge party watching the IPL Finals. My favorite scene
of the film was when Karan ran around chasing Abhay. Overall the film was an extraordinarily fun filled
thing. Last but not least, I would like to say a huge thanks to Mr. Felix because if he hadn’t given us such
an opportunity, then none of this would have been possible.
Aditya Aiyer (Karan) from Grade 8
Be kind help the blind was an unimaginable experience. There aren’t many adjectives to describe it. It was
truly amazing. It changed my perspective of how I look at a movie. This was my debut and I loved it and
look forward to many more experiences like this in future.
Vansh Bansal (Abhay) from Grade 7
Working with a director, writer and many more studio workers was a
totally different experience. For the first few days I felt like I’m in a
different world, a world full of cameras. The journey was really tiring
as we all had a lot to learn. When the director came to our school to
hold auditions we were very nervous, but when it was my turn I felt a
great rush of energy. I had never hoped I would be selected. Once the
shoot started, the four of us were excited and happy as everyone was
really friendly and helpful towards us.
