Itinerary
1.-2. Day: Kathmandu
A scenic road leads to Nepal's colourful capital, Kathmandu. One of the Highlights is
Durbar Square and make sure you leave some time for the shops and street markets.
3. –5. Day: Chitwan National Park
This day we travel on foot through some of the best wildlife viewing in Asia. We visit an
elephant breeding centre and spend a night in a local rural village.
6. Day: Lumbini
Across the border we visit sacred Lumbini, Buddha's birthplace, travel along the Terai to
Nepal's Chitwan National Park.
7. Day: Varanasi
Today we enter Varanasi's mystical and exciting world of tradition and ritual. Sail the
river at sunrise, explore the narrow lanes of the old city and join the pilgrims on their
walk along the ghats - the heart of the Hindu faith.
8. Day: Ganges River
We sail down India's sacred River Ganges on local boats. Camp on the river bank and
become part of the local life.
9. – 10. Day: Varanasi
One of the oldest living cities, Varanasi is a hive of religious life and colour. Wander
through the monasteries of nearby Sarnath or just sit by the river and be entertained by
the constant flow of activity.
11. – 12. Day: Orchha
Situated near the beautiful Betwa River, Orchha combines the peaceful essence of village
life with palace ruins on a river island. There's much time to wander around in this
delightful place.
13. Day: Agra
The famous white marble Taj Mahal is the jewel of India. The 'teardrop on the face of
eternity' was built as a memorial for Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's wife.
14.- 15. Day: Delhi
A lot time to wander the markets, explore alleyways and experience the history
surrounding both Old and New Delhi.
