This new material has made it possible to recollstruct in a tolerably complete
form the Syllabaries of the First and Second Classes ; the reconstructions are given
on Plates 1-5, 14-18 and 24-25, arid are followed by copies of the fragments
upon which they are bawd. The material at present available will not admit of the
reconstruction of the Syllabary of the Third Class. T h e Syllabaries here given
are the most complete hitherto published.
T h e number of the second fragment from the left on Plate 28 (i.e., K. 8,436)
has been accidentally omitted from the lithographic stone ; and No. 33,329, a dated
Babylollian tablet and duplicate of Plates 16 and 17, Col. 111, 1. 63-Col. IV, 1. 7,
will be published in a subsequent part.
T h e copies have been made by Mr. K. Campbell Thompson, R.A., Assistant
in the Department.
