ŽIGA, WHAT IS WWW?
My grandmother at Simbioza workshops
SIMBIOZA Wake-up call for Slovenia: 94 % of people over the age of 65
has never touched a computer (2010).
…and so Simbioza was born – a nationwide volunteer project of intergenerational cooperation in connection with e-literacy.
For one week the young became teachers and the elder became students = receipe for symbiosis (simbioza in Slovene).
VALUES AND GOALS– Promote lifelong learning and active ageing and in this
regard enable the elderly community to acquire the much needed basic computer skills, so to improve the e-literacy of the target population;
– raising awareness and reaffirm faith and importance in volunteering and solidarity among the younger generations;
– and by such means, make an important contribution towards improving the intergenerational dialogue and social inclusion of the elderly.
