The article "Frithjof Schuon and the Islamic Tradition" by Seyyed Hossein Nasr was first published in the journal Sophia (volume 5, number 1) in 1999. It convincingly demonstrates that the well-known writer on the perennial philosophy Frithjof Schuon or Shaykh 'Isa Nur al-Din Ahmad was a traditional Muslim and a Sufi shaykh.
