Friends and Neighbors Of FM 1960 JULY 2014 FAN General Meetings Meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, at JOHN WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH September thru May. Our next meeting will be on Sep- tember 9, 2014 President’s Message WOW!! The last few months have been busy. The new FAN BOARD has met and I can report we are going to have an outstanding year. Everyone has fantastic ideas for trips, luncheons and socials. The speakers are lined up and the topics range from fashion to pet care. There will be something for everyone. Now for some difficult news, we will not be meeting at St. Ignatius. St. Ignatius made it impossible for us renew our contract. Our new home is JOHN WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH located at 5830 Bermunda Dunes. We will have to change to the SECOND TUESDAY of the month. Ladies, this was a very difficult task to find a place that was rea- sonable and large enough. I realize that game days will have to be rear- ranged, but it cannot be helped. We filed the papers necessary with the IRS. Our club was operating without filing, this could incur some fines. Fortunately, Richard Lauritsen (Sherri’s husband) has been through this situation before and filed the prop- er papers. This is no ones fault, we all did not know that we were suppose to file. We have everything in order and hopefully the IRS will accept our explanation. I will keep all of you informed on the status. With the IRS this could take a while. I received a letter in the mail from the IRS and we should know something in 90 - 180 days. The wheels turn slowly when the government is involved. Once, everything is accepted, the filings should be a simple process, but we have to make a few changes. . Continued on Page 2 PURPOSE To provide an opportunity for members to become acquainted with others in the community in an atmosphere of friendliness, goodwill and helpful information. To undertake and to promote charitable and humanitarian projects within the community. To form enduring friendships.

President’s Message
WOW!! The last few months have been busy. The new FAN
BOARD has met and I can report we are going to have an outstanding year.
Everyone has fantastic ideas for trips, luncheons and socials. The speakers
are lined up and the topics range from fashion to pet care. There will be
something for everyone.
Now for some difficult news, we will not be meeting at St. Ignatius.
St. Ignatius made it impossible for us renew our contract. Our new home is
JOHN WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH located at 5830
Bermunda Dunes. We will have to change to the SECOND TUESDAY of
the month. Ladies, this was a very difficult task to find a place that was rea-
sonable and large enough. I realize that game days will have to be rear-
ranged, but it cannot be helped.
We filed the papers necessary with the IRS. Our club was operating
without filing, this could incur some fines. Fortunately, Richard Lauritsen
(Sherri’s husband) has been through this situation before and filed the prop-
er papers. This is no ones fault, we all did not know that we were suppose
to file. We have everything in order and hopefully the IRS will accept our
explanation. I will keep all of you informed on the status. With the IRS this
could take a while. I received a letter in the mail from the IRS and we
should know something in 90 - 180 days. The wheels turn slowly when the
government is involved. Once, everything is accepted, the filings should be
a simple process, but we have to make a few changes. .

or have great news to share:

gratulations to all.
Grace Casagrande's grandson, Michael,
earned a full scholarship to the University of North
budget line to cover a tax preparer to file going for-
ward
Ladies, we are in for a “GOOD YEAR’’.
I know we have changes in our future and this makes our members uneasy. Be assured the BOARD is making decisions that we feel will bene-fit FAN members. We do not take our responsibili-ties lightly. We are always in need of volunteers. Throughout the year there will be opportunities for you to help, please sign up and work on the vari-ous committees that will be forming to accomplish our goals. Sincerely, Betty Horelica President
