FRIDAY FLYER Blessed Trinity Catholic School March 15, 2019 Follow us on Social Media: facebook/btschool @BTSocala From the Principal’s Desk Hello BT Families and Happy Friday! It’s been another great week at Blessed Trinity, but I know that your students are ready for a little rest and break from school. It’s so important that we take time to nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits, and so I hope that you all will be able to take some time with your family over this break. Whether you are heading out of town, or staying at home – take some time for yourselves. We hope you come back refreshed and renewed for the last two months of school. Last week, we held our 27 th Annual Red and White Night and it was a huge success. So far, we have grossed about $92,000.00. That doesn’t include expenses, so we will get you a final total when all of that has been paid. The success of that night would not have been possible without the amazing committee. These men and women spent hours at school and on the weekends soliciting donations, creating advertisements, preparing for the auctions, and so much more. It was a great group to work with and I am so blessed to have been able to serve with them. We also want to thank all of our Red and White Sponsors. We are so grateful for your help and support of the school. Finally, we want to thank the team of amazing volunteers who worked the night of the event. They were behind the scenes and there until after the event was over making sure everything went smoothly. As we look to the coming weeks, we have a few events that occur as soon as we return from break that we wanted to remind you about: On Wednesday, March 27 th , we will kick-off our Lenten Service Project – Miles To Go. Look for more information at Mass that day and in the coming weeks. On Thursday, March 28 th , we will hold our Welcome Party for the Class of 2022. This is for our current 5 th graders and their parents to learn more about what Middle School is like. We will meet in the church at 8:15 on Thursday morning and then go on a tour and end with a party in the Parish Hall. We hope you all will join us! Thank you for all that you do each day to support our students and our school! We are so grateful for all of you! Have a wonderful Spring Break! Hello BT Families and Happy Friday!
It’s been another great week at Blessed Trinity, but I know that your students are ready for a little rest and break from school. It’s so important that we take time to nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits, and so I hope that you all will be able to take some time with your family over this break. Attendance
Parents, Please be sure to report your student’s absences to [email protected] and not the general BT mailbox. Thank You!
Walk-up Passes Reminder to Parents! Students may not be released to anyone from the dismissal areas without a pass. Walk-up passes are available from the school office. These passes must be issued at the time of pick up and cannot be issued early. Thank you for helping our students safe!
Facts is the parent company of Renweb (our school information system provider) and the tuition management provider for the Diocese of Orlando. They will be collecting our registration fees for us this year.
Why Use FACTS
FACTS will provide us the opportunity to help parents stick to their payment plans by sending out invoices for monthly payments and statements. Payments will be made directly to FACTS online. They offer a variety of payment options including credit card, debit card, check by mail or automated withdrawal from your checking account.
How Does it Work?
If your fees were not paid in full at the registration meeting, your family has been entered into a FACTS payment plan. Scrip credits, credit balances, and parish subsidies (agreed to and signed off by Father Pat) will be deducted from your fees and the balance will be entered into the plan.
For example:
Suzie will be in first grade in the fall. Her registration fee for the 2019-2020 school year is $700. She had a scrip credit of $200 which leaves her with a balance of $500 which will be divided into 5 payments of $100 each. These payments are due March 15, April 5, May 5, June 5 and July 5. This plan will have the fees paid before school starts in August.
Each month for five months, the parent (usually mom, unless otherwise indicated) will be emailed an invoice 10 days before the due date. The parent will also receive a monthly statement.
If your family has a payment plan, you should have already received your first invoice that is due March 15.
Questions? We are hoping for a smooth transition but we are learning along with you and there are bound to be a few bumps in the road. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call the school office.
The Leader In Me – Habit 6: Synergize Leadership Roles at Home
Each new month brings opportunities for academic growth and growth in all areas of development. Although children must be knowledgeable when they graduate, they must also be healthy, engaged, responsible, and caring people.
One of the best ways to help your child realize his or her worth and leadership potential is to provide an opportunity to lead. As a Leader in Me School, Blessed Trinity offers students leadership roles as a way to teach:
Responsibility.
Leadership.
Contribution.
Leadership roles can also be used at home. To begin:
1. Talk with your child about the leadership role he or she might be interested in at home.
2. Discuss why he or she is interested in the role. Ask what leadership qualities your child has that will help. Ask how he or she will handle homework or other commitments with this new-role responsibility.
3. Together, discuss, write, and sign the paper detailing the leadership behavior and expectations of the role.
Give your child a week or so to adjust and then discuss how it’s going. This may open a conversation on how to handle things that are too easy or too difficult.
