Half-Term Monday 24th February Non-Pupil Day - school closed for staff training Tuesday 25th February Children return to school We’ve also had a reasonably quiet week in school which is unusual but quite pleasant as it’s always nice to be able to take stock and appreciate a normal school day! Tonight we have our first-ever Year 6 Giant Sleepover - so please think of us this evening - we have 75 Year 6 children sleeping over - sleep may be in question! Have a lovely weekend! The non-uniform day for anyone who has achieved their RED award so far this academic year is on: FRIDAY 28th February . Post-Ofsted Celebration Day On Thursday 13th February, we will be celebrating our recent Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ judgement. To celebrate this huge achievement, the children will be able to wear non-uniform (no make up, no crop tops and no ultra short shorts please). There will also be a special menu for lunch, which the children have chosen themselves - Hot Dog (frankfurter in a bun) or Veggie Hot Dog Chips Sweetcorn or Peas Sugar Ring Doughnut During the afternoon, as a special treat for our amazing children, we will be having a ‘ film afternoon’ - again, the children have selected the films to be watched. We are all looking forward to a super day - a small reward for the to celebrate them being so wonderful! Menu Change - Tuesday 25th February 2020 Unfortunately the school hall is unavailable on Tuesday 25th February so we have designed a ‘Grab a Bag’ lunch which the children will eat in class. The menu is below: Sausage roll or Vegetarian Sausage Roll Potato Wedges Carrot Sticks Ice Cream Please accept my apologies for the change although I have a feeling the children will find it quite exciting and not mind at all! Year 6 Giant Sleepover - tonight at 6.00pm Final Reminders - NO mobile phones please, NO sweets/crisps/snacks Please bring a water bottle, nightwear and bedding - inflatables are best avoided unless your child can inflate them independently Please administer medication before arriving Pick Up - Saturday morning, 9.30am ‘Quingo’ On Wednesday we had a Friends’ Association event with a difference - one for the parents instead of the children! It was a very popular and fun evening with the various quiz rounds, bingo competitions and lively banter from the Skittleman, keeping everyone thoroughly entertained! Thank you to our Friends’ Association for organising the evening which raised £365! Assessment Week Well done to all the children in Years 3, 4 and 5 who admirably rose to the challenge of the various tests they faced this week. We were very proud of their positivity and commitment. Thank you to the year group leaders and teachers for all the time spent planning the complex timetables and to all the teaching assistants who supported individual children. Thank you also to the other teachers in the school who released their own teaching assistants as required. A very successful week all round. Out of School Success Well done to Edie McLellan (3P) who recently passed her Primary Ballet and Grade 1 Modern exams with distinction. 50 Things To Do Before Leaving Primary School Congratulations to: Jacob Collins (3Mc) - 10 Things at Home Evie Plummer (5M) - 20 Things at Home Grace Vasiliou (5T) & Alex Lee (5F) - 30 Things at Home
