We travelled on to Skogafoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls – with a wide, thundering cur-WDLQ�RI�ZDWHU���P�KLJK��6RPH�RI�WKH�JURXS�ZHUH�LQ-trepid enough to walk up to the base of the water-fall where instantly your breath was taken away by WKH�FROG�ZDWHU��$�VKRUW�GLVWDQFH�GRZQ�WKH�URDG�ZDV�6HOMDODQGVIRVV���0RVW�RI�WKH�JURXS�WRRN�XS�WKH�FKDO-lenge to play chicken and to stand under the water-IDOO�LQ�D�WRUUHQW�RI�IUHH]LQJ�ZDWHU��7KHUH�ZHUH�D�ORW�RI�KHDGDFKHV�FDXVHG��

We were doing what in Iceland is called the “golden FLUFOH´��2XU�QH[W� VWRS�ZDV�*H\VLU� DQG� WKH�6WURNNXU�*H\VHU��HUXSWLQJ�HYHU\���WR���PLQXWHV�ZLWK�LWV�ERLO-ing water emerging from the ground and shooting its ZDWHU�VN\ZDUG�WR�D�KHLJKW�RI����PHWUHV��1HDUE\�LV�WKH�*UHDW�*H\VLU��RQFH�LQDFWLYH�EXW�VLQFH�WKH�-XQH������HDUWKTXDNHV��LW�QRZ�HUXSWV�WZLFH�D�GD\��$URXQG�WKLV�thermal area there are steam vents, boiling springs DQG�EHDXWLIXO�WXUTXRLVH�EOXH�SRROV�

After lunch we headed to The Blue Lagoon, one RI� ,FHODQG¶V� PRVW� SRSXODU� YLVLWRU� DWWUDFWLRQV�� 6HW�amongst a landscape of black lava, the water temper-
