"(I chose to contract with you because you are) one of GAF's certified contractors. You had a professional sales person- another large roofer provided an estimate on the back of a business card. I like to ask questions and wanted to know I could communicate with at least one crew member, which I could. (The work you do is) very good. I believe that Mark, Steve, and John are outstanding employees. Mark is a very good salesman. I happened to mention that I had always wanted copper gutters, but they were too expensive. Other companies let it go at that, but not Mark. He went ahead and did an estimate for the copper, and I found that it was not as expensive as I thought - so I got the copper. He also provided several options for the roof, including the use of a ridge vent. He offered advice and opinions, but was not pushy.

I was very happy with having Steve as the head of the roofing crew. He did great work. (The copper flashing around the chimney is gorgeous) He gave good explanations to my questions. He was proactive. For example, when he saw a slew of carpenter ants, he told me about them, sprayed them, and then moved on to another section of the roof until my exterminator could come the next day. He kept good control of his crew, and ensured they were always polite.

John's work on the gutters/downspouts was wonderful. He was pleasant and answered my questions. When I watched him make the gutters, he explained the process.

In addition to the specific employees, I also think Frey was good to work with. Frey was very accommodating when I requested delays while I was awaiting approval of historic tax credit. Brian, the repair person, also did great work when he came out in 2010. He found items that needed attention and took care of all of them. I had discovered some issues when I was painting the dormer and mentioned those to him. (All these issues occurred after Steve was reassigned to another project.) He readily agreed and then pointed out other things. "Dear Scott:I want to take this opportunity to "Thank You" for installing my new roof, and especially taking the time and effort to educate my insurance company on what needed to be done in regards to our insurance claim. Had it not been for your willingness to take the time and effort to provide the insurance company with all of the details involved in providing us with a proper and professional roof replacement, including warranty, it would have cost me thousands of dollars more to complete.

I also want you to know how much I appreciated the follow up by your staff, after the job was completed. Although you did an excellent job installing the new plywood and the new shingles, when I was called and asked if I had any concerns, the only thing I was disappointed in was the dents in my gutters, where ladders were inadvertently placed during the work in progress. As I stated to your staff, the gutters that were dented were previously purchased by myself, and installed by myself. they were not the heavy gauge types that are typically installed by professionals. In other words, I got what I paid for!

The thing that amazed me was, a couple of days after having the gutter conversation with your staff person, the light gauge gutters that I installed myself, that were inadvertently dented were all replaced with heavy gauge seamless gutters by your company! No questions asked, no excuses provided, you just replaced them! You and your company "ROCK"!
