FOREWORD BY SENIOR TUTOR
Welcome to Emmanuel! You may have thought about coming to Emmanuel for some
time, but unlike Freshers arriving in any other year, hardly any of you will have had
the opportunity to visit the College. . This means that you will have more to become
familiar with over the next few days, but actually not very much more than usual,
because a feature of the first week or so, pandemic or not, is that pretty well
everything is new. We are sure that you will settle in and become used to College
reasonably quickly, but please remember that it will take time, even with the help
of the Freshers’ reps and college families.
We are still in times of pandemic-related uncertainty, and while the rules are
nothing like as complicated or strict as they were this time last year, there are still
some restrictions, which all being well will relax as the year progresses. ECSU and
the rest of the College will help you as you arrive, as you meet the others in your
immediate household, and in your first few days as an undergraduate.
This Freshers’ Week Timetable is designed to welcome you to Emma and help you
feel at home as quickly as possible. It has to be provisional, given that we are
planning this well in advance of your arrival. But hopefully it will give you a sense of
the events that are planned, even if some of the details may have to be updated at
the beginning of October.
TIMETABLE 2021
