In light of the COVID19 pandemic and in our effort to prevent the spread of the
virus, orientation week for Intake 10 (2020/2021) academic session will practice
minimal contact and will utilize online services and platform whenever possible.
Following are the important events during the orientation week which requires your
action and presence:

IMPORTANT NOTEFollowing are a few items you need to take note of before commencing your
study at Politeknik Brunei:

▪ Only those who have completed their general fees payment can collect
their Orientation Pack. Please bring your payment receipt/evidence during
collection date.
▪ For shirt collection: Those who ordered (completed their PB shirt payment
before 22nd Jun 2020 (i.e 1st batch) will receive their shirt during the
Orientation Week. Meanwhile, those who registered after 22nd Jun 2020 (i.e
2nd batch) will receive it on a later date.
▪ Registration for Bus Services to Lumut Campus will be notified at a later
date.
▪ All new students are required to have Life Insurance Policy that covers at
least 3 years’ duration of study in Politeknik Brunei. The registration of the
Life Insurance can be done by visiting the nearest BIBD Takaful Branch or
TAIB Insurance. A copy of the insurance policy must be submitted to
Student Affairs Department, Politeknik Brunei, at a later date which will be
informed. (see page 11)
▪ Programmes under School of Health Sciences are subjected to Medical
Fitness Test of which will be communicated in a separate announcement.
▪ Students offered Diploma in Telecommunications & Systems Engineering or
Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering programmes are
subjected to Colour Blindness Test which will be communicated in a
separate announcement.
ACADEMIC TEACHING &
LEARNINGPlease note that academic teaching and learning will commence on
Monday, 20 JULY 2020.
Due to the COVID19 situation and in our effort to prevent the spread of the
virus, academic teaching & learning will practice minimal contact and will
utilize online services and platform whenever possible. Students will be
added to their own specific group Whatsapp by their own Group
Coordinator. Students are grouped according to their group code*. You will
be notified should you need to attend physical classroom.
Note: *Your group code should be stated in your Acceptance Letter.
ORIENTATION WEEK:
BRIEFING
Briefing session will be conducted between MONDAY, 06 JULY 2020 to
THURSDAY, 16 JULY 2020.* All intake 10 students are required to attend this
session. *Date(s) are subjected to change depending on the COVID19 situation.
For the briefing session, students are grouped according to Student
Registration ID. Student must follow strictly their briefing session as scheduled
(see next page for groups allocation).
Please ensure that you have proof of online payment as evidence to redeem
your Orientation Pack.
Upon collecting the Orientation pack, please scan the Orientation Week QR
Code. In it you will find:
• Welcoming remark from the Acting Director of Politeknik Brunei
• Info from Registrar and Secretary Office (RSO)
• Info from relevant departments of Politeknik Brunei
• Info from Schools of Politeknik Brunei
• Academic Calendar 2020/2021
All students coming for the briefing session will be subjected to COVID19 Health
and Safety procedures as follows:
• Scan with BruHealth App to enter and exit the campus
• Temperature check upon arrival
• Wear facemask at all time
• Use hand sanitizer before and after the briefing
• Seated 1 meter apart from other students

In case you are not able to make payment via BIBD Online, you may make CASHpayment at any BIBD counter by stating intention to make ‘Bill Payment to PoliteknikBrunei – Orientation Fees’.
Bagi mana-mana individu yang tidak dapat membuat pembayaran menggunakan BIBDOnline tersebut, individu tersebut bolehlah membuat bayaran secara TUNAI ke mana-mana kaunter BIBD (mengikut waktu operasi BIBD) dengan menyatakan hasrat untukmembuat membuat pembayaran 'Bill Payment ke Politeknik Brunei - Orientation Fees’.
The references for cash payment is similar as online payment (stated above).
Rujukan adalah sama bagi BIBD online dan secara tunai (seperti di atas).
Orientation Fees payment must be made before Monday, 13 JULY 2020. Late paymentwill cause delay in receiving Orientation Pack.

VISA REQUIREMENT
& BRUNEI IDENTIFICATION CARD
If you are enrolling as an international student, you are required to obtain a
student visa and a Brunei Identification card (Green IC) during the early weeks
of your arrival in Brunei Darussalam.
We strongly advise for students to check beforehand with their local authorities
on the visa requirements to enter Brunei Darussalam. All expenses involved in
the process will be borne by the students themselves. Our team will be very
happy to guide you through the processes once you have arrived.

TRANSPORTATION
Politeknik Brunei does not currently provide any home-to-institution
transportation services. However, transportation by means of a shuttle bus
facility is available for students of School of Science and Engineering studying at
Lumut campus with a minimal fee chargeable to an appointed bus operator.
The shuttle bus will transfer you straight from Politeknik Brunei, Ong Sum Ping
Campus in Bandar Seri Begawan, or any designated pick up points set by the
company, to School of Science and Engineering at Lumut Campus.
Interested students are advised to contact the relevant bus company selected
via information provided by Student Affairs Department, Politeknik Brunei.
Please note that with the COVID19 pandemic situation, bus services are
currently put on hold until further notice.
*Please do take note that the shuttle-bus service is independently run by
company appointed and monitored by Politeknik Brunei.

As of 18 JUNE 2020, UBDCorp Management has made an announcement on
their social media that the Online Applications for UBDCorp Accommodations
will commence on 20 JUNE 2020 until 10 JULY 2020. The Online Application
Forms will be posted on their social media platform (Instagram@ubdcorp,
Facebook and Website)

Politeknik Brunei currently does not have any student accommodation
facilities available. However, if you wish to apply for one, there are student
accommodations available which are managed by Universiti Brunei
Darussalam (UBD). Terms and conditions apply.
• studying in Politeknik Brunei at Brunei-Muara District campuses (Main
Campus at Ong Sum Ping Condominium and PAPRSB IHS UBD) and;

INSURANCE COVERAGE
Insurance coverage is compulsory for all and has to be purchased for the
total duration of your programme. However, if you are an international
student, you will have the option of purchasing and renewing annually.
Please also discuss with your insurance provider if you already have an existing
life insurance.
If you have not purchase any student insurance coverage plan yet, you may
purchase from either one of these insurance coverage providers:
